ihave a question do any of you just have sex with out play as in useing cuffs and whip,s i ony ask this cos for my girl and i to make love we have to play uesing things .useing pain to make us hot .have we become more in to the s/m life ......

I adore S/m, but agree 100% with RavenMuse. S/m is dessert for me, but the main meal is the meat and potatos of D/s M/s. I don't 'have' to have dessert, but I sure like it. the D/s M/s is hard wired and just as much a part of 'me' as is being female.

Don't worry too much about labels. If you like it, and your girlfriend likes it, and you're both having a good time with it, does it really matter what you call it?
Strictly speaking, S&M refers to sadism- getting pleasure from hurting someone- and masochism- getting pleasure from recieving pain. D/s refers to domination and submission. If the main focus of your play is on pain games it probably comes under S&M, if youre into serving/giving orders/ownership of each other, thats closer to the traditional definition of D/s. But you know what? If you're enjoying it, call it whatever feels right for you, it wont be any less fun either way.

I have to agree.. D/s is who we are, how we live. BDSM is the fun some of us enjoy as part of a D/s relationship

I agree with everyone else. Do not worry too much about labels; as long as you and your girl are enjoying it, that's all that matters. For my boyfriend and I, we don't engage in the D/s side at all, it's all S&M; which we are quite happy with. Our friends that we have in the lifestyle who are more D/s find nothing wrong with this at all.
