..that depends on the soap. Always examine the ingredient labels on anything you plan to put in your mouth. If it's a more 'natural' soap without a lot of ingredients that you can't pronounce, you're probably safe.. probably, that is. [;)]

Most household hand soaps are at  worst gonna cause a little diarrhea. (in moderation, don't pour milk over them and eat a bowlfull), ix nay on the liquidsoap hey.   Ivory might make your shit float, after all it is 99 and 44/100% pure.  Let us know how it turns out.

Sinker or floater; perfumed or putrid.

This may be hard to believe, but when I was just a wee lad I was quite willful.

I also seemed to have had a mouth on Me. More than once  My mother grabbed a bar of soap and washed My mouth out with it.

Even to the point of dragging it across my teeth. I seem to remember soap tasting like shit, but I suffered no permanent physical damage.

The jury is still out on psychological damage..:)

I also remember as a kid being punished this way. That soap definitely wasn't natural or organic, but it didn't cause any side effects.

Think of it as a bad tasting toothpaste and do it. When you brush your teeth, you are not supposed to swallow toothpaste either, because you can get Fluoride poisoning which is more dangerous than effects of a soap.

My kids HATED Dawn dishsoap..............[:D].

However, if a bar of soap was closer, I made sure it scraped the teeth really well.

Raises an eyebrow....no....really? I'm SHOCKED!

You should ask this on a medical forum. I personally wouldn't do it on a child anymore given the changes in child neglect laws over the years. What was normal discipline for us as kids is abuse now.

I would guess we all ingest a bit of soap over the years whether it's intentional or not and I haven't heard of anyone dying from it....dunno though...eating soap is something I avoid......for obvious reasons.....

Thanks everyone. I had my mouth washed out with soap as a punishment for saying something that my mistress did not like. She enjoyed it and I think about it a lot. She sat me on the side of the bed, put a bowl with water and a bar of soap in it on my lap. She got her hands all soapy and soaped up around my mouth. The soap bar was small, like you see in a hotel. She ordered my open and pushed the soap in. Then she held her wet hand over my mouth so I could not reject the soap. I really tasked it and my eyes started to water. But she kept my mouth closed for what seemed like forever while she smiled and lectured my about me speaking out of turn. I think I learned my lesson but wondered if the soap was bad for me.

I never personally had my mouth washed out with soap but my younger brother did often. He had a mouth on him. Lol

Fucking Lava is the worst! But Ivory isn't much better. my father would carve out of the Ivory and then my mother would save the shavings for using later, as needed.

LOL....no, just grew up on a "hobby" farm, and my dad and my uncles always had some project going, or working on a broken down car to get it running, or fixing a tractor.....[:)]

I used to work in child welfare in the state of Iowa........ It is child abuse to put soap in your child's mouth in that state. Apparently a child died from ingesting soap.


My sister now uses vinegar.

i think a bit of soap wont hurt just dont chew on it as you will get a tummy and yes its nasty and punishment is meant to work well~ jewel
