How did it start,
When was her world torn apart
and the path of submission begin.
When she was given away the very first day,
So curious to know did they cradle her heart,
and for those two years did she shed any tears.
She truly don't recall she was just to small.
Given back to her owner,
Seems from that point on she did everything wrong,
pain and misery seemed to be her destiny.
How can it be that she was running away by the age of three.
I'll sleep in this brush and hide the in dust
crying her fears away, till the police arrive.
Still trying to survive at the age of five
only to realize there would be no escape
she grows more aware that her
power and control was taken away
trembled and shaking
because of that glare of a stare
the certain look that says " They don't care. "
She was to do as told
or suffer the blows of a love so cold
when love and pain become one in the same
A place where my soul would grow old
Those lessons and teachings
we learn that shape us,
conditioned from the start to have a slave heart.
That's where her submission began.
