I've been looking for an excuse for a week now to shout "Horsefeathers and poppycocks!" and if I do it during an actual meeting at work, everybody looks at me like I'm the crazy one somehow.
I once bellowed "Oh horseshit!!!" during a management pow-wow.
Went over like a box of rocks, lemmetellya (Damn Suits...they lose their sense of humor when their tie-knots dig into their Adams Apples..)

Ha ha.  Sorry about that, it's just that I get so darned worked up.
Listen Sweetie...if the OP is the reason for you getting worked up, consider what she wrote in another thread:

I am NOOOOOTTTT whiiiiiiny and arrogant. I simply know I am better than you

I'd say she is not worth getting worked up over.

As with all generalizations, they are generally crap. Wait, I just made a generalization about generalizations. So that would mean, that all generalizations being crap, is crap. Generally. So then the relationship beteween generalizations and crap must be a squared function, with generalizations being proportional to crap squared. As anyone who has ever taken a squared crap can tell you, they really hurt on the way out. Let this be a lesson to all of you.

DesFIP -> RE: The Psychology of Trolls (5/18/2010 11:31:38 AM)

The op hasn't addressed trolls at all. He/she has addressed HNGs. Trolls are people who flame others on the board.
I've glanced at the op's profile and feel doubt about her age, gender etc. The fact that the only post 'she's' made are rants adds to that effect.

laineyjade -> RE: The Psychology of Trolls (5/19/2010 12:26:16 AM)

Since people think my pseudo-psychological study of trolls is boring, could you give me ideas of what you would like to see future pseudo-psychological studies on? I do hate to be boring. Please message me since I probably won't be checking this thread much.

tigreetsa -> RE: The Psychology of Trolls (5/19/2010 1:35:53 AM)

Contrary to popular belief the 'B' in BDSM doesn't mean Belittling other people.

Is it any wonder that some people now feel more marginalized within the BDSM community than they do out in wider society?

No wonder there's mass migrations to other sites.

Ah, but there is an exception to EVERY rule, including the rule that says there is an exception to every rule ...

Another welcome to practical and a hope he sticks around. Nothing like a smart, witty man.

ReginaMirus -> RE: The Psychology of Trolls (5/19/2010 11:40:18 AM)

Meh. People that are THAT socially inept DESERVE to be belittled and marginalized. It's common courtesy to read someone's profile completely before responding. If you're THAT lazy and in THAT much of a hurry, than you deserve that someone's ire.

That being said, I find this discussion fascinating. How do you actually get them to respond? I guess my audience my be somewhat different, but the responses seem to be the same. I respond and they never answer me. Perhaps it's because I belittle them from the getgo, they seem to get the hint very early.

So what? You think it's okay to belittle and marginalize people because they're 'socially inept'? So what about shy people? People with emotional isues or even mental illnesses such as bipolar, autism, Asperger's and clinical depression?

So what's the benchmark here? Online or social popularity? And what? Just because someone doesn't make that first contact in the way you expect or like it justifies you being less than civil to them?

Oh.. okay..

It's plain to see tigreetsa that people who were stigmatized  throughout much of their life because of a speech impediment, because they were taught growing acceptable social skills, they were born with some sort of a psychological problem or even a physical handicap will always be belittled, scorned, ignored and even grossly slandered by people who feel they are better than everyone else.

roland23 -> RE: The Psychology of Trolls (5/20/2010 10:23:21 AM)

Define troll. Are there any she-trolls? Are they what the snobby attractive girls in junior high used to call creeps(guys who were not rich , strong or handsome)?
