I would just like to take a moment and say............. I am always right, everyone else is always wrong.

I hope this helps

Again, my post is not directed at any one person, as I already stated.

I don't think this group psychology type of behavior is limited to the internet at all, it may be easier to spot here because it's in writing and time seems to be elevated on the net, but it's very much present in everyday life as well. Think of any job you've ever held or group you've belonged to, the people that only contribute to that group by whining and criticising aren't accepted well, it's pretty simple.

GreedyTop -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 7:53:26 AM)

~FR~

what gets me is that what the people who complain about cliques don't seem to understand is that when the clique 'members' are all making similar comments on something, it's probably because part of the reason they drew together in the FIRST place is because of sharing many similar views.

I'm not going to hang out a lot with people who I havent got much in common with....

laurell3 -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:14:12 AM)

Haha nice link Red and so true. I giggled because it's also true of me at times, not at CM however.

I agree with the concept of social darwinism to a point, I think that type of concept is what generates the reactions, however, the consequences aren't as extreme as it may appear. I have seen it happen here many times where the poster that was ridiculed was later accepted and even valued. This is my point and what these people that comment on it seem to miss. It really is not a very exclusionary group, yes they snipe, but they also accept rather easily.

you forgot to mention the firey hoops and pledge week stuff the new ones have to do, laurell ;:)

eibhlinauvert -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:21:59 AM)

laurell, so what youre saying then, instead of "whining or critiscing" something i find to be aborrhent. I should prolly just have sat and agreed and hope all you lot let me in your gang! haha. bravo.

Jeffff -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:25:44 AM)

The fact that you find it abhorrent means you are continuously missing the point.

We took a vote.   We don't want you.

"How do you and your group treat this person?  Extra points if you can be really honest here".

LadyNTrainer, thank you for offerring me points, just one question though, if i get enough of them does it mean i am then in your service? Even more thanks ( and a bit of grovelling if youd like that) for taking the time to explain darwinism to me, although, it is a concept i happen to already have heard of. As to your question, if i felt someone was being treated unfairly, not matter what group i was in, i would say it, as i have here, simple as. I think that's a pretty obvious conclusion if you would care to read my previous posts.

Here's what your missing, I'm not talking to YOU at all....you seem to find everything here personal and whine constantly, there's not alot of intelligent conversation to be had in response to that.

Greedy Top "we took a vote, we dont want you"

particularly caustic. you might take into consideration i am not looking to join your clique. i said IF i was looking to join is this what i should have done, sat and be quiet to something i disagree with. if thats what all you lot do. you are most welcome to it.

p.s. i seriously doubt any of you were really that anal and took a vote. if you did even more reason not to want to have much to do with you

LadyPact -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:33:52 AM)

I'm so glad that someone else is making that point, GT.  Thank you for saying it.

I appreciated the mullet story, too.  It's nice to see a sense of humor.

I could mince words about this, but I won't.  This thread isn't the first thread the OP has demonstrated some poor choices.  Which, I honestly don't care about.  If she's just screwing up her own world, it's no skin off of My nose.  Yes, I might even go so far as to tell her that I don't think she's making good choices and that I don't think she's very bright because of the choices she's making.

Instead of getting herself a mullet, during the course of the thread, she made sure that three other people got a mullet, too.  I'll bet they didn't even know they were getting one.  Mullets and the military, don't especially mix.  The OP, even though she does make some poor choices, might be quite intelligent, but I don't think she was really using it when it came to this thread.  She didn't very much think about the potential implications.  Uncle Sam and Auntie BDSM aren't friends.  It wasn't her ass on the line.  It would kind of suck to have somebody with an ax to grind who just happens to be in your unit come across this little thread, print it up along with a copy of your profile, and send it to your Commander.

In reading My prior posts in this thread, do you not see any resemblance to this statement?

Redmagic, the metric comment is in my opinion another snark. and yes i did have fun at the concert, thanks for asking. as for writing down how much time i spend at certain tasks every day, this might work for you, and stick to it, more power to you.its something i will more than likely refrain from. yes, as soon as i came home from the concert i was so impatient to see what you lot had all written i forgot to open the front door and in my eagerness ended up with a mighty welt where i walked right into it.

Jeffff -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:45:59 AM)

Are you this annoying in day to day life?

Are you ever wrong?

And before you ask, yes I do on occasion cop to it, right here, in wrting (and bad spelling) on the boards.

I find it hard to believe you are, so why act that way here?

LaTigresse -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:50:33 AM)

Maybe being annoying is her kink?

Jeffff -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 8:52:02 AM)

In that case, she is hardcore!

Kudos to her!

I disagree to that...I am happy to criticise if I am accepted or not, a situation where I don't criticise is when I am not bothered about something (such as about a particular situation at work) anymore. Eg 2 weeks before I finished placement someone suggested a new system which I found utterly ridicioulus...if I would have been at the beginning or middle of my placement I would have said my view but as I was about to leave for good I did not feel it necessary to have my say...IMO it depends on what form the critique is...if it is only critique for the sake of criticising or criticising something for valid reasons. If someone has valid reasons for criticising something I am always happy to hear critique and prefer that much more then to amen and yes people...just my .2.

laurell3 -> RE: Does anyone know if we are allowed to post links to a donation site in our journal posts? (5/26/2010 9:22:20 AM)

Clearly in that situation that wasn't your only contribution

No not really.  See, I know Greedy in real life.  That's not caustic.

In fact, many of us on this thread know each other in real life.  When sunshinemiss told the OP to put some clothes on, I could just about see her shielding her eyes and saying it.  Perhaps if the OP had read the screen where pictures are uploaded, she would know that the picture was unacceptable.  I mean, it's not like it's right there in big bold pretty colors.  Oh wait, yes, it is.  Pretty hard to miss it.
