What are you talking about...you live in MO (not far from you), all the cool kids are in the bathroom smoking!

Lol. When I saw the first part of your response on As the Collar Turns, I thought you were going to say that living in MO I had a lot of practice looking at unattractive people. (It's fluff, not fat!)

Say for example it was against the law where i lived to sport an overgrown mullet.  Say for example one day Sirsholly came to me and asked me how to go about raising funds for charity. Now, instead of pointing her in the right direction,  I overreact and  start running around like the vikings had arrived to pillage my village; I tell her to remove herself from my sight as i cannot take her seriously while she looks like that, not to mention, its against the law!  The village leader gets involved and chastises her too, tellling her the nineteen-eighties have called and want their hairdo back. The rest of the villagers find this hilarious and all join and finger point, and agree how very DARE she roll on up on her motorcycle looking like that. sirsholly leaves not knowing anybetter how to solve the initial problem and now has a complex about her appearance. Now, this is a hypothetical. Let me remind you. I would not do this.

Was Holly also flashing her bits to all and sundry? If so, yes, I would say something. Your choice of analogies and the fact that you have at least twice now made 'it's no big deal' posts tells me that you do not understand that the rule is there for a reason. Legalities and such aside, many members here access the boards on lunch and breaks, often either while at work, school, or out in public. Others access them from home, where there may be short people underfoot. For those members, avatars showing penii and or pussies are a big deal. OPs who post threads with nude pics are usually asked by other members to please put a warning in the thread title for just this reason.

As to the meat of your analogy, LNT's was much more accurate. Would you defend the person who showed up to a vanilla munch in fetish gear and started arguing and throwing insults when told that hir outfit was inappropriate?

Now, it has already been mentioned numerous times that the OP is both not new here, and that she has a history of making insulting posts to other members. The fact of the matter is that you do not become a new poster with each new thread, and people here do remember what you have posted in the past. New people often see a thread like this and jump to defend the person being "bullied" without taking the time to read previous posts made by the 'victim'. It is a fact that people get out of this site what they put in, which ties back in with LNT's posts about social Darwinism.

Speaking of past posts, I happened on this little gem from the OP, posted Oct 27th, 2009:
quote:

[snip]As for my white spot the rules stated that the main photo was not to be dirty so I blocked that out. I had 14 photos up all without white outs but then someone told me men copy them and use them to pose as women. I then took them all down.[snip]

The OP was perfectly aware of the rules about posting main pics, she just chose to ignore them.
quote:

and for those of you so concerned about the rules on this site, leave it to admin to govern i would say, thats what theyre there for isnt it? or at least thats what i would have thought.  a whole bunch of you jumping on someone like you did as i have said before is out of order.

You mean, the way you did? Oh wait, your second post in this thread was an attack on the admin, now wasn't it?
Bit of 'do as I say, not as I do' there. As LAT pointed out, what is or is not 'out of order' here isn't up to you.

Hello to you too vaguelycurious. I am not going to address everything you posed to me even though i have read and appreciated that you've spent so much time working out the intricacies of what you perceive to be going on here.
Fair enough. :-)

I disagree. This woman has decried everything that everyone else has said in this entire thread. (except of course for the OP who has mysteriously dropped out of sight.) She's given some valid arguments (that are frankly, irrefutable) and all of a sudden she's picking up her ball and going home. Who does that remind you of? (hint: ~smile)

Blushes,

This is the internet; I don't believe in policing who does and does not respond-people are free to opt out of an argument any time.

I hate arguing in real life and I made a resolution not to do it on the internet. If I personally don't like someone's tone then I am not obligated to respond to them, and part of that is accepting when someone doesn't want to respond to me.

TOS does not allow it TFTB - that is why I said what I said. Sometimes my humor seems to get me in hot water. Ahhh well.

Let's see if we can't untangle one or two things here.

I did not shield my eyes although I did blink. Why did I blink and make a little humorous remark basically pointing to TOS? Cause it's the way I roll. I'm not generally the demanding sort. I'm more of a "speak the truth in humor" kind of gal (thus Miss Sweet as 3.14).

If she'd been in front of me, would I have shielded my eyes? Yep. That Cali knows me so well! Unless we were on a nude beach or in a bath house or something where that is acceptable behavior. I happen to know it is not acceptable here, gave info to someone in a humorous way, and was suhlammed for it. Meh. You see me still crying tears of despair, don't you?

It says a lot about the character of a person to come in, ask a question, be given feedback, and then vomit all over everyone on a question of the norms of the place. If you went to church and stood in front of the congregation dressed like a hoochie momma to ask for help for your baby, I expect they would escort you out of the main room, take you to the side, give you a blouse and pants and then help you. If all you do is scream about your "right" to dress like a hoochie momma, your original message (help for your baby) will get lost.

I have asked a couple of times for info on the original question - you know the request for helping military dogs - and have received *no* response here or in my cmail box. This tells me that the OP was here not to ask for help, but to pick a fight.

best,
sunshine

You know something casual like,"Help Support ------" and then the link address.
Or is that against the rules?

I agree that she or he wanted to shock and to pick a fight, considering her hypocritical quasi innocuous question. She knew the rules very well.

Is there any way to get this train wreck back on topic.....or should I just lock it, it can morph from links to donation sites to the dogs it was originally about, but that would be on topic, the rest of this, is not. I contributed originally to thread drift, can we drift it back please ?

Oh LaT -
Thank you. I suppose I could have googled it, but where donations are concerned, I tend to take a "let's see what pops up in front of me" stance. I like that. Makes me feel like I'm being encouraged by the universe. Whether that's true or not is anybody's guess!

Best,

Thank you. Since that is actually the information that the OP supposedly wanted to publish, and the question is answered for all those that really did want to know where to donate and more information about it, I think the subject is closed. I will lock so those that want the link can get it.
