truckinslave -> Illegal immigration debate (5/26/2010 8:48:43 AM)

This is the best piece I've read about framing the debate about about illegal immigration. It seems to me that we conservatives lose the language/positioning wars far too often- or worse, we don't even engage. I see nothing wrong with this strateegery.

I think it's an excellent strateegery and I think you should e-mail everyone you know and put the new strateegery into your own words.

Just knowing that you are the beneficiary of my post is more than enough gratification for one day.

Yup that is the oldest and ignorantest and the least likely to succeed.

Good plan, same plan.  Hasn't worked as long as there has been a border with mexico, and wont work as long as there will be one.

But you may be on to something this time..............pound, pound, pound.

I hope you continue to write out your opinion over there and leave us ignorant of your thoughts.

Truckin, you conservatives don't have much better of a record on this than the lilly livered liberals.
Bush's rich buddies wanted cheap slave labor at slave wages and he obliged.
Liberals have this notion that they can turn illegal aliens into "Democratic voters."
Both of those positions are wrong and illegal.
Here's an idea, how about we start to enforce the laws that are on the books and close that border? Prosecute people and businesses that hire illegals to the fullest extent of the law and that means prison sentances.
Bush was no conservative, he was bought and paid for by big business. Hell, it'd be a stretch to call him a "Republican."
There are more Independants out here than Republicans and Democrats combined and we're *very pissed off* about our govt's lack of *action* on this issue.
There will be "change" in November on a very large scale and it will include Republicans as well as Democrats who've done nothing about this!
This isn't a "Liberal" issue nor a "Conservative" issue it's a *Law Enforcement* issue.
What we have here is, "a failure to communicate." And the American People are going to be doing a whole bunch of "communicating" come November 2 nd.
