I'm thinking of getting one. I searched, and the topic never appeared before. I find it hard to believe this is virgin territory, I probably did the search wrong. Anyhow.......

Had one? Know someone who did? Men in your life you knew had one? Tell of something you have personally felt about having one, or what you heard from others that have had one. Like, I know a family member who had it done, and they said it hurts when they lift something. Another said they feel a "pop" everytime they cum.

So what have you felt/heard? Pain, joy, relief, nothing, taste different?

If I go through with it, I'll come back and revive the thread, and let everyone know what happened in my sack. Not that I think anyone really could give a shit, just from a personal standpoint after having asked everyone else. Sort of quid pro quo.

Edited to explain final sentence.

I've been married to one and in relationships with two others who have had V's.  None of them had/have any complaints, at least that they've voiced to me.  One said he thinks his semen volume is a little less than it was pre-V.  One said he had sex the night after, just to prove that he could.  None of the three have any regrets.   I personally think it's the responsible thing to do if you truly do not want to make any more children.

Good luck! :)

My ex had a vasectomy. I was present for the procedure. He shaved the night before. The doctor cleaned him and injected numbing meds. The stick seemed to hurt but he said it was not bad. The thing that hurt was when the doctor pulled the vas tubing out of the tiny cut a tiny bit to clip and staple it. My ex said it felt a bit like getting kicked. He was a bit sore at the site the next day and after that he was ok. He said he felt like he was ejaculating less after but that was the only difference he noted. I noted no differences.

me----------just about same as Gracious Ladys post.  You have to learn to be cool crossing your legs until your nuts adjust to being loose.  The left one is lower and right one behind for a REASON!!

I've known a number of men who have had them and didn't hear of any problems. My ex husband had one, walked a bit bull legged for a day or so, but he was still doing me like a lil bunny the same day.

my ex got one.  he was in the room for about 15 minutes, we went home and he put a lil ice on the fellers that evening.  he never had any bruising or major pain, and went back to work that monday (he had it done on a friday afternoon and worked construction).

he had the "no scalpel" kind done, where they did one puncture of some kind and pulled the vas thru that one hole to do the work.

Your family member that has the problem with lifting might have a hernia, he should get that checked.

I've known many men that have had one with no problems, and had sex very shortly after.

I would get a vasectomy if only at the same time the doctor could give me some sort of a dye implant that would turn my ejaculate blue or maybe blood red.

B has one, and no issues at all with it.
Actually every time we see a screaming child in a restaurant we toast each other, smile really big and say 'Vasectomy!!'

Arpig - I have heard "balls the size of baseballs, with tons of ice used.  But I applaud the OP for considering it.  Some men are super squeamish about cutting on their sack.

The Man had one and so did the ex. It hurt the first couple of days when they sat around with an ice bag frequently. No problem after but yes, less fluid in the ejaculate. A very quick office procedure.

I don't understand how lifting things could be affected. It's a tiny incision in the sack and then a quick cut across the vas. Not anywhere near muscles or sinews which do the lifting. Be aware however that some men will feel psychologically less and may believe there's a physical change as a result even though that physical change did not really happen.

I have had one and can definitely recommend it if you are married or possibly have kids and no longer want any new ones. It definitely takes the stress of the unexpected suprise away. The only problems I had was two days after the surgery, I got pretty sore. I laid in bed most of the day but was back on my feet in no time. It is a little un-nerving during the actual surgery as well, as you are numb, but still feel pulling and tugging on your body...you also definitely feel the scissors cut the cords as well as you are listening for it.

shiver,

My husband had one. Simple office procedure. He wore a jock strap for a few days afterwards. No real problem.

One of the female family practitioners in that doctor's office (not the one that did the procedure) told me that men, in general, think they are having major surgery when they have a V--but that's only because they've never given birth.

I'm planning to get snipped within the next few months. This is the first I've heard of there being less fluid. Could anyone give any more details on this? Are we talking a little less or a significant amount? Having sex more frequently could have the same result so is it possible these men were simply going at it more often with their new and improved member?

And to answer OP, I've heard almost nothing but good things from friends who've had it done. I did hear from a friend of a friend about a guy who had his sack swell up but I think those cases are quite rare.

I have not the answer you're looking for, but this reminded me of an interesting conversation I had in the 9th grade.

A boy assured me, in all seriousness, that once men got the snip, they could never have an orgasm again.

I would like to suggest that whatever happens to you, it will certainly not be as bad as that.

Best of luck.

Good morning!
My husband has one done back in the seventies. He said it only hurt for a few days, was bruised for a about 2 weeks but back to work in about one week. He was in the Navy at the time. Nowadays they have much better surgeries so I am sure that it will go fine. But make sure you do that that sperm check done after. 22 years later he had it reversed and although they only gave us a 5% chance of having kids within 6 years-cause after 6 years you develop antibodies that kill the sperm- we had 3 kids in the next 5 yeras, all healthy and 2 miscarriages. He got tested 3 years ago and he has developed the antibodies so we are done. but even the reversal which was was harder cause there is less tube to play with( one had such scarring from where they burn the end that the doctors had to re-cut and attach) and he was in surgery for about 2 hours, he came away with going home that day and very little bruising.

I am sure you will be fine. Viscosity it the same and the liquid is the same as before. All shall be well young padwan. It is really worse to have your tubes tied from what I hear, cause then you have layers of muscle and such to get thru..guys have it so easy. Good luck!
Love,
Zechriel

P.S. Funnily enough , my husband had his done at the Navy hospital and his revesal was done 22 years later AT THE SAME HOSPITAL! weird!! But as to why they would okay doing it- we had a young naval doctor that was very ambitous and my husband was in great health. The staff wanted to take the chance to be in the medical books. And they did. It was not everyday you see Naval Doctors high fiving in the hallways afterwards. ahh theh joys of youth.

That was a great story. Thanks for that :)
Not too often you hear about reversals either. Most of the time they tell you it's impossible. Although that could be a result of how they do it these days.

My ex had her tubes tied and I can certainly say her ordeal seemed far worse. Surgery was about an hour followed by a few weeks of recovery. And ever since (about 5 months) her period has been worse.. bad cramps, headache, bloating. She had skipped the post-op visit so perhaps that would have shed some light. Most girls don't have any issues but there's a lot more potential for complications.

Hi everyone,
I've had two ops in the nut-area. Both were just short polyclinic procedures. After a couple of hrs recovery in the hospital I able to walk out (by myself) with a huge diaper-like bandage and drain both times (nothing to be scared off), had my dinner and went to bed the time I always do, up early in the morning go to work and ZERO problems. Both times!!
My 1st was
for varicose veins. I didn't have enough little swimmers to get my wife preg. And now I've got six strings of platinum in those veins.
When our son was about 4yrs, I decided it was time for a vasectomy. No regrets.

Greets spanks & kisses,
Mark^
