I often hear about porn stars permanently losing control of their bowel movements from anal. What I wanted to ask is, are there any ways to prevent this? Or is it just one of the risks people take?

I've never heard of this, can you cite any sources?
I receive pretty vigorous anal sex fairly often and other than some mild flatulence afterward (which can't really be helped), I don't have any issues. I can't imagine how normal anal sex could result in a lax sphincter, unless maybe you try to numb the area somehow and the sensation doesn't come back - but numbing is never a good idea in the first place. If it hurts in a bad way, your body is saying 'no'.

No, I have no proof that this actually happens. Only heard from friends about it, hopefully it's just a rumour. I just started trying this with my boyfriend and wanted to make sure that it's not a risk. Thanks for your response, I feel a little better about it now.

Guess that's all the answer I need, I'll try and not put a wine bottle up there or anything lol

kiwisub12 -> RE: Safe sex (6/2/2010 10:49:20 AM)

if you have healthy sphincter tissue, as in no tears or scars, there isn't really any reason why you would have any problems. Especially if you don't indulge every day.

and the tip of the wine bottle should be just fine - just don't shove it all the way in lol.

Anal sex will not cause you to lose bowel control. I know men who have been taking fists for years with no loss of control.

However an infected anal fissure can in rare cases result in loss of bowel control. If you have an anal fissure you will know something is wrong, there will be blood and pain. (blood and pain could also be a hemorrhoid) I would say if there is anything scary going on down there see a doctor for it. Other wise don’t worry too much.

Note: I am not a doctor I know what I know from personal experience and internet research.

I'm not certain as my physical anatomy is not conducive to anal penetration, but I do know that too much anal can lead to a prolapsed rectum.

Google image search that if you would like to give up on life.

And you know this how? Many people have engaged in anal sex for years without it causing a prolapsed rectum, which incidentally can be caused by many different things, including improper lifting.

Spinal injuries can also cause loss of bowel and bladder control.

As others have said, if it is hurting in a bad way, don't do it.
