and which idiot allowed the Iranian navy into the Mediterranean? presumably through Suez but maybe, if they went the long way around, through the other end? What possible business should Iran have in operating in the Med? and if they dont have naval assets in the Med now, which idiot is going to allow them passage into it with such purposes disclosed? presuming of course that Iran has made any such declaration at all. E

The Iranian Navy can go anywhere in International waters. The danger comes IF they try and enter Israeli waters.

Why don't we fix our immigration problem by declaring that Mexico has no right to exist ? Then we'll fire a few thousand rockets at border towns and then when they respond...the whole world will condemn Mexico ?

Should be an interesting couple of months, this blockade has been going on for three years. Any sinking of Iranian ships would at least keep it in focus for a while longer. Building materials can be used in rocket attacks so can wheelchairs; Hamas has been firing wheelchairs into Israel for years...FACT!. I'll safely bet it's just more posturing from Iran and as long as their internal audience are hearing they have global impetus, it's all the leadership care about. What they say and what they do don't have to be the same as long as nobody within sees the reality outside. You know it's a bit like how the coalition says they are making Afghanistan a safer place, fucked if I know how that is even measurable.

To be fair, Afghanistan is safer for the Afghanis at the moment, as the Taliban have been concentrating on kicking the shit out of the occupying foreign armies instead for the best part of a decade.

I don't know because I'm not really convinced the average person cares one way or another if the Taliban control a region. I don't get the sense that the average person is using their new found freedoms that have apparently been bestowed upon them by this short term presence.

I'm looking forward to Iran getting their asses kicked on the national stage. If Obama is smart, when trouble breaks out he will order the navy to sink every Iranian war ship they can find any where in the world. Including their little republican guard speed boats that have recently tried to provoke an attack. Unfortunately, Obama is a muslim who was raised as a communist. Both of his parents met while attending a Russian language class in Hawaii. Back then, people only learned foreign languages of countries they liked and respected. So it's not likely Obama will allow the U.S. Navy to have some unrestricted target practice. Oh sure, they will be allowed to defend themselves, but that is all.
