Status: offline 		It would nice to know what actually happened since he mentioned something racial happened. If it was a e-mail, well, I got a e-mail calling me a stupid redneck before. LOL, I'm white, that's racist to. I've never heard of anybody being called a redneck other than whites. But do I give a rats ass, hell know. To me she just went in my stupid bitch folder I have a stupid dickhead folder as well. LOL.

I'm guessing something like that happened to him. Anyway, some people are racists, some are sexist, some are nationalists, some are intellectual nazis, some are just stupid. Most are reasonable though.  Either way I'm unsure why it would matter. Just put them in your stupid asshole folder, and forget it. It doesn't do any good to look any further into than that.

Status: offline 		     Not to be the one to burst anyone's bubble, but it's perfectly normal (and IMO "ok")  for someone (anyone) to have intolerance toward a specific group (any group). I think its unrealistic to have any kind of expectation that everyone is going to love everyone else, all the time. There are certain groups I can't stand, and I'm more than positive that I belong to certain groups that others can't stand.

    I don't buy into this fantasy conception of "acceptance of all" that some believe should be prevalent in the lifestyle (or anywhere). Now granted, we should use our manners, and not sling around derrogatory terms, and not commit hate crimes, and yadda, yadda, but those actions are founded in civility, not acceptance.

    I see no problem with someone stating in their profile that they don't want anything to do with X group of people, or people who practice Y, or people of Z skin color or inclination. They not only have the liberty to do so, but in doing so, it eliminates a lot of unneeded messaging back and forth to get to the point that they say "Ooops, I didn't realize you were of XYZ group that I hate. We're done talking."

    I think on some level, most (if not all) of us hold some kind of prejudice toward some other group. It just deveops towards particular groups based on our personal perceptions and experiences. It's a valid part of being human.

   I guess it's that old addage of "I don't like what you have to say, but I'll defend your right to say it."

There will always be hatred and racism (sorry to burst everyone's bubble) - whites that hate blacks, blacks that hate whites, and every other conceivable interracial hatred that people can think of.  The key to to rise above it, to fight against it, and to separate yourself from it.

People do have preferences and that's okay.  If a white Domme wants a white sub, she's not being racist; she just has a preference.  I personally don't have any races for whom I would not sub.  I also don't have any limits on sizes, shapes, or religions.  I do have a limits on personality though.

It's about what's on the inside that counts (wow, that is SO cliché), but it is true.  So, it doesn't matter if the Domme is a 400 pound white woman, and 75 pound asian, a 6 foot 6 inch tall indian, or a 4 foot 10 inch tall black woman - it is the impact that person going to have between my ears matters most.

With all else being equal or unequal, give me intelligence, personality, a sense of humor, compassion, respect, etc.  I'm having a terrible time finding a Domme that meets these requirements; if I added race or size as a factor then I would be totally out of luck.

Status: offline 		Well, considering I happily and (ok, just look in the thesaurus for all the wonderful synonyms for "enthusiastically") serve my Master and he just happens to be African American, I can say that I suppose I join the ranks of welcoming those of all walks of life and of all ethnic backgrounds without prejudice.

That being said, I'd like to tell you about a munch I attend. 

Three Fridays out of the month, the coffeehouse where we meet is generally attended by large factions of the Armenians from around here. One Friday a month, we descend on the place and pretty much displace them all. Initially, the usual patrons would avoid us and kind of hover around one small table, whispering and glaring at us. The thing is, the people we'd displace just wouldn't go away!

Over the years, their tables have expanded to be mixed in amongst the ones occupied by our group. Neither group talks much to each other, but are very polite to one another. The reason we all don't talk has nothing to do with ethnic prejudice and everything to do with the disparity of ages within both groups. Little by little though, every now and then, someone strikes up a conversation and the two groups get along better.

It is my opinion that when someone is chased away due to the prejudices of someone else, no one wins except the prejudice. When people stay, despite whatever prejudice they might experience, everyone wins because prejudice can't. It takes courage to stay in situations like that, but courage is a damn sight better than running away at the first unaccepting glance.

Being a caucasian involved with an African American, I often get glares from both sides of the color line. But that's ok, because the one glance that I care about above all others is his. And if he's happy with me, then I'm happy, and no one can touch that.

So, I'd suggest to HarshReality is that running never solved one darn thing and there ARE people here who understand and are accepting.

This thread was dead before you revived it!   No your standards are not what employers will use, unless you are the employer.  A person is actually a lot more capable than what his/her school transcripts sometimes say.  Your daughter with a 4.0 I bet is still not a perfect human being by all standards, or anyone's standards for that matter.   So each employer can decide which qualities or mix of nature/nurture they want in their companies.    M

Your racial issues aside, this morning's racist spammer was dealt with before I had the occasion to log into the forums so I'm afraid you'll need to direct your misplaced persecution complex towards another moderator.
