US Supreme Court refuses to hear Clinton pay row case

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100607/pl_afp/usjusticecourtdiplomacy

The conservative pressure group Judicial Watch argued to the Supreme Court that under this clause, Clinton was not eligible to take up the post of secretary of state.

Judicial Watch is as looney as they come.On the same level as the birthers and tea-baggers.

I believe that this issue has come up before with other elected officials and in the cases where a member of Congress is appointed to a position they previously approved a pay raise for, the simply take the position at the salary it had prior to their vote. If this is correct and it turns out that Ms. Clinton did not take the position at the previous salary while all other similar apppointees had - I'd say that she'd been guilty of an ethical breach - but as these things go this issue is so minor that it's making a tempest in a teapot.

Part of me wishes they had taken the case just to verify or corroborate the Supreme Court is in the control of ideological right-wing loons.

Now if the SC was in under the control of the "ideologue right wing loons" as you call them, dontcha think they would hear this, and all the birther cases?

Think before you post, do us all this little favor, will ya?

As was reported the day she became the Sec of State, she will have the salary before the new raise went into effect.  But what the hell, nothing like wasting court time or public funding on a case that never should have been filed, way to go rightwingers, and here I thought they where against wasteful spending

Congress cut the pay of SOS putting it back to it's previous level almost two years ago. I'm not surprised SCOTUS refused to hear the case.

These are the rt.wing loons who ruled that corporations (ficticious people)have many of the same rights as real people.
