A few weeks ago I was with a guy and he offered me poppers. I turned him down because I have never used them and didn’t think the best time to make the decision to try them for the first time was when I had a dick up my ass.

Now its a few weeks later and I plan to fool around with the guy again, and I want to be informed. What do poppers do to you? I mean both positively and negatively.

Right now all I know is they are popular in “gay culture” and supposedly they won’t show up on a drug test.

Personally I can't stand the things. I have only inhaled amyl nitrite once and it made me feel dizzy and nauseous immediately. It was similar to sucking one of those victory v sweets that used to be available everywhere.

Poppers are widely available and when inhaled have an immediate effect on you. They are meant to relax you and relax the sphincter but the effect is very short lived (a minute or so) and so its usual for popper takers to re-inhale a lot.

This is an interesting article. Erowid is a great source for recreational drug use information. Also, make certain it's nitrites, not amyl nitrates.
