It might of been a bit off, but more likely I was paying the price for letting my hunger emotions  talk me into more than the stomach should of had:( I was feeling super hungry.

Yes, Ibuprofen can cause stomach irritation, it's very hard on the stomach.

As for pains, I wonder if your apricot jam or something wasn't quite right.

I had one doctor having me take 800 mg. Ibuprophen three times per day for arthritis.  After a while, my stomach hurt every time it was empty, and if I ate a small meal.  It felt better if I ate until I felt full.  I'm clueless as to why.  I looked it up and Ibuprophen can cause stomach pains.  I have to limit myself to one 400 mg dose on rare occasions, or else it causes me pain.

tazzy, I do believe that's a killer for me heavy meals, or sugary things , because last night I hada piece of a  raspberry lemon tart cake, it's kind of like an angel food cake, but with lemon and raspberry flavoring, and I put it in a bowl of milk with some whip cream for desert, and not long after I got a tummy ache.

And I know Daddy gets stomach upsets if he eats anything really greasy or heavy or fatty. It just goes right through him

Have you had your gallbladder checked?

Not that I know of, or remember.

I think it may be something you need to have checked. After eating something heavy in fat... ice cream.. milk... cheese... dairy would always kill me... your gallbladder goes into action. gallstones can be extremely painful. do a google on that. and i would suggest, perhaps, a dr's appointment.

I'd like to see more responses to this discussion.  I often have tummy problem....I was extremely colic as a baby, and I have stomach pain almost every day it seems.  For the most part it's mild and I am used to it, but there have been 3 or 4 times when the pain was so excruciating that I literally wanted to die.  I was able to get to the ER one of these times, and was told it was gas, although I got no explanation as to what may have caused it's onset.  I recently discovered that coffee may be one thing that causes an upset. Although I frequently drink coffee and most of the time I am fine, I think I will refrain from drinking it from now on, which sucks because I love the stuff.  I found that eating more actually helps to relieve the pain, I guess because it absorbs the acid.  I'm going to stop talking about this now because it's making my belly hurt haha.

I had this, and for as long time, i had a bunch of terrible tests, and the final diagnosis was peptic ulcer syndrome, and 4 months of zantac, prescription strength, did the trick, i did cut way back on the coffee, but still have my one good cup in the morning.. and many small meals help, an empty stomach was not fun for me. I still get flair ups now and then, but easily controlable.
Good Luck!
