Hello, i'm  called Understud; and have been looking over the site. I hope to share a concern and just mabye save someone the experiance I had. First of all... everybody do what you think best...its none of my business...But after three sugries and  some serious pain, I thought I might share this...I use to go barefoot all the time, and I've read volumes about the joy of it here, be that as it may.  A virus commonly know as planters wart is arround...step into it, and it found a home.  It also can be spreat to other people if they live in close proxcimity...same house...This thing taps into your blood supply ; and just lives there on the sole of your foot..SO WHAT? ...So it grows!...When I steped into it;  the thing finall reached the point of becoming a real pain it the...?
No not that, the foot. It took three operations to get it all out. After the last operation, I required serious medications just to hobble arround crutches...One month total on crutches and almost two with a cane before things got back to normal, Like I said its not my concern ... so do as you think best...just wanted to give you a heads up that you can step into it...Take care and have a ball...what did I just sa...never mind see you around

Hello understud,
Sorry to hear you had problems with Plantar Warts, it does occasionally cause problems though usually, in my experience, it's a fairly mild condition which causes discomfort rather than pain. The human papilloma virus, which causes the warts, normally go away within two years so most of the time the over the counter drugs are perfectly adequate.
Should you get affected again I strongly recommend either laser treatment or chryotherapy (sp?) rather than surgery. I had laser treatment when I got a wart on my hand (I am very vain when it comes to my hands) and it was gone right away.

tks Mtress Sophie...I will try laser if it ever happens again. I lived with it for over five years. Took the antibiodics and everything, nothing worked and it just got bigger,  sadly at the time for me they didn't have lasers and the doctor sudgested sugery.  I would like to read here, it helps me understand better...I'm concerned and want to do this safely and avoid being injured.  Any time I ask arrould I get seventeen differant answers to the same questions. Very confusing at times...
respectfully ... understud

You might want to go to www.WebMD.com and search for plantar warts. I've found it to be a very reliable source of medical information. I'm sorry you had to go through so much surgery.
