ORIGINAL: CountrySong Lance - I'm not going to say you can't wear one, but there are messages sent by ALL tiaras. You don't just slap the dime-store one or your wedding one <bleah> on your head and go grocery shopping in jeans. For that, there ARE appropriate tiaras. You just need to be careful that the tiara matches the message you want to send. Of course not! Everyone knows that turquoise and silver or a simple strand of pearls go best with jeans and grocery shopping. Unless of course Macy's or Nordstrom add a frozen food isle. For jeans and grocery shopping (NOT at Nordstroms) the proper tiara is a very low one, maybe just a headband to hold one's perfectly coiffed hair in place. Can be wide - but no more than three rows of diamonds. I LOVE the idea of a silver and turqouise tiara. Beautiful headband idea. Especially if the turquoise is natural. Pearl headband, not so much. Now, if we're shopping AT Nordstroms for groceries, the chauffer MUST be carrying the basket (and NOT driving the buggy.) The basket is preferred since "we" just stopped for quick few items for me since I'd had a very hard day with the tennis instructor. My "regular" brands are stocked at home, but sometimes that husband of mine just doesn't have much sense. I'm thinking cooked shrimp, peeled and ready-to-eat. Of course, a cocktail sauce, but :::sigh::: Ethel's is so good, we can't really do her justice here. "Friends" have been trying to get her to reveal that little secret for years..... Every Holiday season, I find myself out-bidding the others as they taste it. (I hand Phillip the shrimp, waving my hand at the counter.) Oh, maybe a little deli - where are those hand-sliced turkey sandwiches? Yes, that's healthy. And a to-go potato salad. A bottled water, cold, of course. No brand name for me. We have an artesian (and artisan..... hahahahaha) well nearby. As my hand passes the Pepsi, I look and see my favorite taste is now zero calories AND zero caffeine. Yes, one of those. As I look in the cooler case, I catch the reflection of my low, 3 row diamond tiara and think, "Well, it IS Nordstroms and this seems a little gauche. Maybe next time I'll wear the tiara with the central row of pearls that stand up a little from the diamonds. My hairdresser, Henri, said Jean could comb my short hair over the whole thing, giving me a sparkle and a Botticelli Venus look all at once." As I wave at Phillip to pay and I walk past the check-out girl, I think, "God! Where do they get these dogs? This is, after all, Nordstoms. I'm not paying these prices to have to look at that!" As I walk out, the harried, hungry, thirsty Phillip at my heels, I think "Who the hell is Botticelli?" and "When can I get Phillip out of that sharp uniform, especially since it's making him sweat?" ORIGINAL: CountrySong <snipped> Unless of course Macy's or Nordstrom add a frozen food isle. I so very, very much apologize. You wrote a "frozen food isle." I read that as a "frozen food aisle." Such a simple mistake, but what a concept! Grocery shooping (and frozen food at that) on a seperate isle. Be still my beating heart! Private plane in and out. Refrigeration on board, of course. Since this is modern, it will be green, so all those little golfs carts to drive around - well, for Phillip to drive around. AND, an easy way to get him out of that uniform - on the way home. ::: sigh ::: FUCK THE TIARA! I'm going to the Carribean to shop - it's swimsuit time!!! Oh, wait! Ethel does the shopping!!!!
