I would just like to give a huge shout out to my best friend and Daddy - Captainofthesea. He and his crew departed on Friday for gruelling 635 mile ocean race. They have left Newport RI and are on their way to Bermuda. Daddy and I did not have time to talk before they left but I want them to know how much I am rooting for them. I believe at last count there were 185 vessels entered.

..mostly a hot n slow race. Im not sure id use the term grueling .. <that is the "story" you tell the wives/girlfriends>typically its a great excuse to party for days on end lots and lots of beer get consumed along with the almighty grog <Rum with a splash of water>. Sometimes tho you have to manup and drink "bilge wine> Box wine stored in the bilge.

FYI here on the great lakes we have our own "grueling" race next month a couple hundred miles pretty much 6 days of partying <before during and after the bayview port huron to mac race. Invites sirsholly and wandersalone to be my crew. Ill supply the beverages and show you my knot tying abilities.

Good Morning Sailing Fans. The race continues to progress. The Captain is about 61% complete and his class is sticking nice and tight for now. Hope they remembered to take the sunsreen with them!!!!!

For all the "non sailors" <read nautical clueless> the haulback is even more fun as in "party on DUDE" Vacation mode sets in. One of my fondest sailing memories was bringing back a 40' after a mac race.

It is 7 m here in Western Canada.  The past report had the Captain at 83% completion.  The pack has really tighened up during the night, but I expect it to spread out as they start to make a run for it.

And SD - I'm not there because I would just create more confusion and problems.  I know nothing about sailing.  Oh, and my hubby might have something against it too!!!! lol
