And as to whether the shape of the crucifix was a single pole, an X (thats why everyone is hinky about Xmas) or a Y or a T.........well, it comes to the same thing, nobody is going to airbrush accuracies into Michaelangelos shit at this late a date anyhow, the paint is already dry on that stuff.

So, instead of IRNI maybe it should have been IXYT.

Or INXS?  Most of their shit will kill you.

It is nice to go to Bible study during the day and have sex with married men by night!

The image of PA in his man-t-hose getting fucked by an Ed Asner looking soccer dad in a confessional is now in my head.

The Catholic church- is not quite my thing.

I was exposed to it.   The place seemed top heavy and to been on ceremony-  throw in ego problems, and the endless quest for cash and-  it is sort of a bummer.

In school- you were nothing if you were not a Catholic and it had to be a "Chicago Catholic" too.

The mode is top heavy.

I guess we are going to discuss it.

But .. but .. boogers are in the bible!

Firm

edited to add:

Boogers are Blessings

Picking 10 reasons why boogers are wonderful is not hard for first-time author (and 10-year-old) McDermott, who co-authored this picture book with his mother.

The book's protagonist flaunts a bright yellow tee shirt with a box of tissues crossed out as he lauds the joys of nose-picking. "Boogers are blessings,/ 'Cause, well, they're just fun!" he proclaims. "They make great little snacks,/ When there's no time to cook./ They're handy placeholders/ When you're reading a book."

Just saying ...

OK then discuss we will.

First of all: Boogers do not exist. People who believe in boogers are not as intelligent as those of us who don't.
Booger believers are destroying mankind. They run around with their little mini purse sized kleenex, offering them around like cookies. All the time trying to push their booger philosohy on us.  Then you get the Fundie boogerists who have no problem telling you there is a booger right there hanging out of your nose. They are the worst ones. There is no booger, they just want to see you plucking and picking, all the time telling you it's still there.
As for their diety: the Boogieman... don't even get me started.

Why, thank you Firm.
Perhaps you would be interested in joining my new fight. Myself and an elite group of anti boogerists are working on getting legislation passed to remove all kleemex, tissues and hankies  and banned in public schools. We are sick and tired, and offended quite frankly, that the Boogerists have had free reign over our children. How many times have you seen a teacher tell a kid they need to go blow their nose ? The boogersist children mock and laugh at our anti boogerist chidren. making lewd screams of  " EWWWWW, look s/he has a booger hanging out of his nose " It's time these little bastards and their illl advised parents learned a little tolerance.

CMail me on the other side if you are interested in joining the good fight.

You friend in solidarity,
mbmbn

Boarders on blasphemy.
Sorry PA but that's dumb....one man's blasphemy is another's truth...always has been like that.

As to the OP, pffft more of CM's religious uber-bigot's ranting, nothing to worry about. As to the so-called research...isn't the word crucifixion latin for "hang on a cross"?
The fact that nails were not normally used is something I have known since about age 13, but it was done at times, otherwise the story wouldn't have flown back then...the people were familiar with crucifixion back when the Jesus story first started, I think they would have spotted a fake-out, don't you?
