I have a couple of questions to ask:
1: What does the term "vanilla" have to do with BDSM?
2: As far as switches go, who enjoys it more?
Thanks!

Vanilla is a term used to describe a non-BDSM relationship. In other words one that doesn't have all the flavor of a BDSM relationship. At least that's how I understand it, although I have found that there are as many definitions for a term as there are people that use the term [:)]

As a switch I believe that its enjoyable from both sides.

I have only ever played with other switches, which is a rather fun and intersting experince.

Is being a vanilla a bad thing, though? In my case, as stated, I'm mostly submissive, but I also have a dominant side of me that's screaming to escape. Any ideas?

Personally I believe that if you are experimenting with this lifestyle you are no longer vanilla even though you may do vanilla things. If you see yourself as kinky and know that you are a switch, you are not vanilla. JMO. By the way, you have a nice smile[:)]

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

PS: Being vanilla is not a bad thing, it is just how someone is. Just like some people prefer the missionary position.

1) some people decry vanilla as bland, boring, or generic. Personally, I find it to be a nearly perfect foundation upon which to build exactly the sexual sundae that I want.

2) as the priests at delphi once warned travellers - "This, above all things: to thine own self be true." That means that whomever enjoys it more really depends on who is doing what to whom and whether they enjoy it. It's a little too subjective to make any sort of blanket statement.

I'm pretty strongly a bottom, but that actually makes it sexier when I'm on top. I enjoy being the one in control, the one holding the whip and tying the knots, but at the same time, I can look down at my partner and knew exactly what they're experiencing, because I've been there. I've always kind of felt sorry for the folks who don't try the other side of the coin now and again, because they honestly don't know what they're missing.
