I would love to find what you're talking about on your post, though, around here.  That would be totally awesome.

http://coppelltx.gov/farmers-market

Google is your friend. Type in:

"Denton Texas" "farmers markets"

WITH the quotes.  That search brought up a ton. This one seemed interesting and close. AND had a web-site!

<edited to fix quoting functionality>

Thanks, Lance, that's great.  I know how to use Google, I guess I was just being lazy.  We actually have The Cupboard, which is our local organic/health food store.  Plus, I have a friend that used to be part of a food co-op, I was thinking about asking her.   And then there's the farmer's market just off the square.  Thanks!

I think people need to be aware of corn.  So much is made from it, because it is plentiful and cheap.  Unless it is heirloom seeds, chances are it is genetically modified.  Think about that the next time you pick up any variety of things made with high fructose corn syrup.  You are eating something that has been genetically modified.

Well....you might NOT mention to him that eating out in Nebraska....yeah....unlikely to avoid corn....just sayin........

Corn.... not exactly what I had in mind.

ShoreBound149 -> RE: I Watched Food Inc. Today (7/7/2010 5:47:44 PM)

This morning we had the Gyro Breakfast at Bill's Gyro Souvlaki on the boardwalk in Atlantic City.

At midnight last night we had the Corned Beef platter with cheese fries and gravy at the Irish Pub in Atlantic City.

For lunch today we had the Fish Taco's at the Mott's Creek Inn.

I have not seen Food Inc.

It's tough to break the cycle, but I will admit that I eat far less junk than I used to.  And I try to limit the corn syrup and look for sugar - the real kind.  I wish I had been better at this when my kids were younger, I regret feeding them some of the junk that I did.  My eldest eats much healthier than I and I am often impressed with his choices.  There is always hope.

In my effort to avoid corn today, I had a Pop Tart and some cardboard.

KatyLied -> RE: I Watched Food Inc. Today (7/7/2010 7:24:46 PM)

A poptart is cardboard!

Level -> RE: I Watched Food Inc. Today (7/7/2010 7:26:58 PM)

Have you tried the brown sugar cinnamon cardboard variety? Love them!!! would marry them but they are only fifteen years old.

It's a guilty pleasure....Ate Arby's on the way to Milwaukee last night.

I would actually like to see an arbosaur.

KatyLied -> RE: I Watched Food Inc. Today (7/7/2010 7:31:58 PM)

As long as you don't keep Arby's in your refrigerator for 6 months.

Do yourself a favor and skip it.

You are correct. You can keep arby's in the car.

Always handy!

Impossible....Who can resist the temptations of an arby sammich for 6 months? All slathered in horsey and barbecue sauce.

Horsey sauce is almost 100% horse.

KatyLied -> RE: I Watched Food Inc. Today (7/7/2010 7:55:13 PM)

So when you say "on the cheap" you are talking about dinner at Arby's?  I expected so much more, unlike Jeff, aren't you from the classy side of Chicago?

domiguy -> RE: I Watched Food Inc. Today (7/7/2010 8:07:46 PM)

On the cheap, means a dinner at Arby's? Hell no. You gotsta go with Marie and dine on pizza rolls, roller dogs, spicy hot cheetos and a big pickle to truly experience "on the cheap."

The problem with roller dogs is the buns always seem a little stale. I have found that if Marie sits on them her dankness rather brings them back to life. And as an extra bonus, you get that ten day old salmon flavor imparted into your dog.

Yummy!!!

This is way too easy of a set up.  I shall take a rare pass.

This, coming from the "Garden State"
