Islam is a few centuries younger than Christianity - would you say the latter is very new too? I would, particularly for us here in England where it only achieved victory a couple of centuries after Mohammed had popped his slippers. Christianity is less than a thousand years old in some parts of Europe.

Christianity was spread, particularly through northern, central and eastern Europe with extreme violence. As example, examine what the Franks did to the Saxons and what the first "saintly" king of Norway did to his own people, forcing many to flee to Iceland.

You only have to look at the texts chosen to be part of its scripture to see far worse instructions to violence, including genocide and ethnic cleansing, than anything in the Koran.

And in closing, it really doesnt matter what it might be that you are saying. The message is loud and clear.

This would be sort of funny if it wasnt for the first treatise considered to be Algebra being written by Diophantus, a Greek living in Egypt nearly 500 years before al-Khwarizmi's writings.

the Babylonians and Egyptians, roughly contemporaneously, informally solved what could be considered algebraic equations, but without the use of symbols and without the ability to handle fractions (in the Egyptians case) and negative numbers (in both cases), all of which are considered essential to algebra.

The Christian Bible also advocates stoning women for adultery. Jesus said he came not to destroy the law but to fulfill it. When he stopped people from stoning the adulteress he didn't say "Do not stone this woman because it's wrong" but rather "None of you have the right to punish her because you all break the law too."

Historically, Christian law has been just as barbaric. The Inquisitions in Europe and the witch trials in New England exemplify this perfectly. The reason the west is more advanced than the east right now is not because Christian theocracy is better than Muslim theocracy, but because we no longer codify Christianity into law.
