MissAsylum -> Do you have a foodie crush? (7/8/2010 9:21:37 PM)

I discovered my foodie crush in 2008 when i was visiting my father in Westminster, London. It was at a point where i was starting to enjoy life again so i was running around and doing whatever i could to get the most out of my visit. there have been huge gaps in time when i go home to England so when i decided to check out Warwick and i came across The Warrington, a pub of some sort that was opened by chef Gordon Ramsay. Of course i had heard of him, but i never had eaten any of his food. I had tried the beef rib with chips and house made ketchup. for desert, i had steamed chocolate and banana pudding and i do believe with coconut ice cream. i was in HEAVEN. i have since gone to a few other places of his and i've had a good expirence at all of them, but none compare to my first meal at the Warrington. i've been in food lust of gordon ramsay ever since. has anybody else expirenced food love or a food crush for a paticular person/eating establishment?

Rubio's Fish Taco's.

I'll drive all night and most of the day to eat one.

OH MY GOD is it good.

Fuzzy's fish tacos are really good, too!  They're awesome!

It actually is which is what makes it so strange.... they have them all over in California and Vegas I LOVE THEM... Eat at one just about whenever I pass one. I don't know why it is really so simple but fuck me running is it good.

This one Brazillian BBQ place... well, two technically. The pit master moved from one to open the other, and I followed. I asked him repeatedly if he would marry or adopt me. Still getting a 'no'. One day though... one day!

EDIT: That's just the first to come to mind, there have been SOOOO very many over the years. LOL

The owner of a place in Phoenix called Juans. Well, not the owner so much as his wife. She's the one in the kitchen making all the food.
And "Ha", the owner of the Chinese/Vietnamese place here that I love.
And the old lady behind the counter at Harvey's Wineburger in Phoenix also.
And Tojo, of Tojo's in Vancouver. <3

Yeah, I'm a slut... whatever.

if i ever go to california or nevada, i'll be sure to try one. i've never had a fish taco so i suppose my first one should be a good one.

lol you sound like my boyfriend. he has a thing for this older vietnamese woman who works at a hole-in-the-wall type of place that serves really huge pancakes. when she is buttering the pancakes, she slaps the cakes with a house paintbrush sized pastry brush. i'll admit, it is mesmerising lol

I would fall madly in love with this woman, I guarantee it!

Ooooh, and "Mamma", at a soul food restaurant here. The collared greens are to DIE for. And SOMEHOW I never fail to show up there and finish my dinner JUST as a fresh sweet potato pie or pan of peach cobbler is coming out of the oven. She's the one person I'll give credit to for me eating better fried chicken than my own. But my sweet tea is still better. ;) And the only place I've found in the state to get decent catfish.

I never did get into high end, hoity toity restaurants. The food at the little dives, mom and pop restaurants, hole-in-the-wall, looks like a shithole on the outside places is ALWAYS the best. Period.

And here I thought you were going to mention a certain Vegas establishment that serves platter-sized omelettes with names like "The Kitchen Sink" [:D][:D][:D][:D]

My local Sushi Bar does up a Bento Box that is enough to make weep with joy.

I'm so addicted to their Dressed Crab and Tobiko Inari and it's the one type of Sushi it's almost impossible for me to make at home

Note for other readers, as QSM will NOT tell you this (trust me), the omelettes also come in a 'small' size, which pretty much still covers a regular sized plate!
