ORIGINAL: willbeurdaddy And where did you read that the bar may be looking at disciplining him? From the end of the article: McInnis, a former congressman and a lawyer on leave from Hogan Lovells (formerly Hogan & Hartson), could face discipline from the Colorado Bar, said legal ethics professor Rebecca Aviel at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct prohibit "dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation." "The rule covers attorney conduct even when it does not pertain to a client or particular case," she said, noting that the rules are "under enforced." And your contention about the plagiarism case being weak - I'd agree with you except that McInnis himself has not taken that stance. IOW, he doesn't think that argument stands a chance. We read it differently. "Could face discipline" doesnt say that discipline is being considered, it says that they could have grounds to consider it.
