Have you ever noticed that in basically every movie/tv show/documentary that is shown that contains anything even approaching BD/SM, there is no mention of switches?

Only one that comes to mind is from the first time Lady Heather showed up on CSI and the girl that died was a switch, or at least that is what I am guessing...

I think this is unfair and we should revolt.  It's the duty of peasants to revolt.  Oh... wait... that's BE revolting... nevahmind...

It is all Sascher-Masoch's fault.

Best,

BTW - in Quills, didn't deSade show himself to be a Switch?  Or was it another deSade movie. . . I do not remember.

You mean Venus in Furs?

LaMalinche -> RE: Have you ever noticed... (4/16/2006 7:13:29 PM)

Well, "Venus in Furs" is one of Sacher-Masoch's works. . .  And yes, there is a line in the begining that says something to the effect that you can rule or be ruled but not both. . . it is right after he tries to hit his female servant with a whip.

He wrote others. . .

You should read about what his wife had to say about him, and what he used to ask her to do.

But Quills is about deSade, and there is a scene in the barn where he gains pleasure from having the young man whip him. . . but he also liked to cause pain as well.

Best,

LaMalinche

I'll look into this tonight unless you have copies of his stuff I can borrow...

And, frequently, a sadist is a masochist and vice versa... well, at least that's how it works for me...

Well, he had two wives.  The first, Laura RĂ¼melin, seduced him under false pretenses and grew dissatisfied after marrying him.  The second, Hulda Meister, adored him.  The so-called Confessions of Wanda von Sacher-Masoch were written by the first wife.

The longer I run around this world, the more I realize my reading selections were not as wide as they prolly should have been, or as in depth as they need to be... I know a little on a lot fo things, but infrequently any serious depth on most things... not all... just most...
