This is a TRUE Story.
I was driving down the street when I saw 4 kids walking down the opposite direction.
They were wearing Tight Black Jeans, Band T-Shirts, Flannels with the sleves cut off (One was actually wearing a zipper laden leather jacket although I wonder if he got it at the local thrift store), and they all had long Dark Brown and Black Hair.
I found this pretty funny so I stopped and noticed that all were in their Mid Teens like over 13 but under 17. So I rolled down the window and asked
"Which one of you is Joey" I was prepared to get a 'Hey Fuck you mak' or 'you're a Dick'
Instead what I got was
"Joey Who?, None of us is Names Joey"
It occured to me they had no idea that the style they were emulating had been done before so I said
"You know, Joey Ramone" And although I said it Matter of factly they still didn't get it.
"Who'd He" Was the reply I got.
"The Guy all 4 of you are dressed like right now" Was all I could say as I pulled away with my palm to my head.
Although the truth is the 4 band shirts were a Metallica shirt, a Led Zeppelin shirt, and 2 Ozzy Shits gotten at the same concert, when I remember it they were all wearing The Ramones Shirts just to make it sound better.
At that moment I realized that the youth of today thinks that Led Zeppelin is a Shirt Brand like SilverTap or Hurley. I realized that some people wear a shurt cause it looks cool not because they know anything about it.
So I wonder if my son will be pissed that no one knew that Hanna Montanna was really a girl names Miley Cyrus whose dad once had a Mullet offended the world.
