domiguy -> RE: Rant of sorts....pussified men (7/19/2010 8:07:12 AM)

I am a guys kind of guy. It sounds kind of childish and maybe it is a carryover of playground behavior but I don't like guys that are pussies. I am not sure what that means today. It is not about physical prowess but it has much more to do with their overall mental view of the world that surrounds them.

It certainly isn't a Dom/sub kind of thing but in the same breath I find far too many of the male subs that post out here to be so malleable, spineless and sickeningly angered over their lot in life and that seems to be a rather disturbing phenomena and trend.

I like to hang out with guys that have their own minds, that are quick on their feet and are somewhat opinionated but can back up those opinions with facts not rhetoric. They are the type that are not overly guarded and are capable of rather flying by the seat of their pants because they know the outcome will be a positive one; but they are also not fools.

My close friends, some right or left politically, do not need talking heads to validate their opinions. I find people who continually need their opinions verified by some talking head to be lacking something internal. There is no confidence in that venture. I have always adored people that live their own experience or try and gain knowledge through unbiased sources and then try and sort it out to form an opinion.

It is the nature of those views, opinions and how you place them into action or words that determines whether one is a pussy or not.

You are kidding us, right? It is an insult for human beings to treat each other as equals?
That's not what she's saying, I think.

She's put it badly, but from what I can tell she's talking about a much stricter formal logic definition of 'equal' than everyone else is. If you have an equals sign in an equation you are saying the two sides of it are *exactly the same thing*-they are equal in a logical sense.

In that context, men and women are absolutely not equal. A man is not the same thing as a woman-that's what makes heterosexual sex a fun and refreshing change [8D]

That isn't the same as saying they should not have equal rights, or that they do not contribute equally, or that they are not equally intelligent (or equally stupid) or whatever-they can hold equal value in a particular attribute without being formally equal overall.

I *think* that's what she meant. Correct me if I'm wrong, angel.

To be fair, I don't think that applies to most of the male subs who are long time posters on here.  That mostly seems to be the case with some of the 'fantasy BDSM' male subs, possibly because they've got it into their heads that's how a sub is 'supposed' to act.

Why do people have to continually say shit like this? I am a fucking arteeeeest. Aside from blasting Pro Dommes which is now somewhat of my schtick, I am usually 100% dead on.

When these "holy" records are unearthed in several thousand years from now and Domism is the all the rage of your descendants, you will have wished you would have given me more consideration.

Okay, how about this:

A man and woman are at a party. The woman isn't strong, she is however drunk; she begins saying some nasty things to another guest. The man tries once, twice to get her to stop, but she doesn't. Finally, he tells her to "sit down, and be quiet". Is that better, is it the "shut up" that is offensive? Surely not the fact that he's telling her what to do, is.

Just thinking out loud here. [:D]

Think more quietly.

If you're so self-actualised and independent why do you keep moaning about shit like this?

Doesn't whinging about backhanded compliments make you a pussy?

I think people need to clarify what they mean by equal because men and women aren't equal.  They aren't the same, they are no where near being the same.  NOT being equal doesn't equate as many seem to see it as less than, it simply means men and women are different.

To me, i would have a hard time with a Man who sees me as a woman as his equal because it tells me he is so into political correctness that he fails to celebrate the differences of us and our dynamic.  Women should not be that insecure that they need to be the "equal" of men.  And men shouldn't be that politically correct that they see women as equal.

Which is why to me, the concept of what people are defining as equal means because for me, it flabbergasts me when a woman celebrates her man seeing her as equal, because to me that is the worst insult a Man can give a woman.

The connotation i get from threads like this is the concept of NOT equal means less than instead of simply different.

angel

What flabbergasts me is that on a BDSM message board the same tired societal standards still hold.

Not at all. Just pointing out the error of your ways. Giving you the chance to drink at the altar while there is still time. I am only looking out for you and your eternal salvation.

If you feel the need to continually call "The Light" "whinging and backhanded" you will not be remembered well by the future Domiists.

You will be considered part of the "whinger movement" that ultimately lead to my demise. You will be cast in the role of the future's Pontius Pilate.

This should not be confused with the "Winger Movement" a group of futuristic people that will worship the words and lyrics of Kip Winger. They will grow long hair and defile seventeen year old women on their altar. While the movement will gain some momentum and popularity for it's overall nobility and truth, the lack of doable seventeen year old gals will lead to their ultimate failure. At some point they will disband and they too will soon accept the Holy words of the CM scrolls and Domism as their ultimate path to righteousness and salvation..

Everyone else shall be considered to be pussies.

I would say that is no way to handle a belligerent drunk.

Moreover, though, it's way off the question of whether it's a man's societally-sanctioned perogative to talk that way to a woman, simple because he's a man and she's a woman
- and whether it would be just as acceptable for her to speak the same way to him, under the same circumstances.

Picture it: A man tells a woman to sit down and shut up, and she does it.
Now picture this: A woman tells a man to sit down and shut up, and he does it.

Do you respect the man, now? Has he been humiliated?
Do you respect the woman, now? Has she been humiliated? Did the issue of respect or humiliation for the woman even occur to you, when you pictured that scenario?

There you go. The very fact that a "pussy" is slang for a woman's genitals or a weak man...the bias is so entrenched, that if you want to find out if something is disrespectful, offensive, or insulting to a woman, you have to imagine doing it or saying it to a man, instead.

"Equal" can be a valuation in some contexts. Inequal can certainly mean "less than". But it can also mean "different than". At least according to Mirriam Webster.

Having said that, I agree with you. In barelynangel's post, it's clear from the context of the post when read in it's entirety that she is refering to "difference" not "value" when she says men and women aren't equal.

So, is equal on this thread "equal" (hahaha that made me laugh) anyhow. is it equal to the word "belief" on the religion thread?

And does that question make any sense to anyone else?  It is clear as heck to me.

eta i vote for toilet seat dpwn.

Actually he is a happily married man and a conscious and decent guy so maybe not the seventeen year old part of it. His solo music is actually pretty sophisticated.

domiguy -> RE: Rant of sorts....pussified men (7/19/2010 9:18:57 AM)

Kip Winger is a pussy. The future will not acknowledge his marriage and he will only be remembered for his "hair" days.
