A fun little game to play, based on a real incident. I was at our little dungeon last night after the munch. We have a wonderful guy there who just loves to be paddled. He is a collared submissive, but has his Mistress' approval to play with others. Talk about someone who can take everything you dish out! Anyway, I didn't bring quite as many paddles along in My toy bag as I should have in anticipation for playing with him last evening. Thankfully, the dungeon is stocked and there are a number of paddles hanging on the wall that are welcome to be used during play time. So, there I was paddling away. A couple of female tops had played with him before Me, so he was already showing the effects of other paddlers. When I paddle him, I give him everything I've got, which he knows and loves. We're both having a great time and then.......... BAM! I broke the paddle on his ass. The handle still in My hand and the other piece falls on the floor. Of course, after the scene is over, I offered to pay for the piece, which belongs to the dungeon. There absolutely is no fixing it. The paddle has to be officially retired. For fun, the question is, who gets the souvenir of the broken paddle: 1. The top who broke it (Me). 2. The bottom who could take the beating that broke the paddle. 3. His Mistress. 4. The Mistress/Owner of the dungeon. Who is you answer and why? (Yes, it is a true story. One that I thought people might have fun with.)

Well, there's two parts, right? So two people can have a souvenir. I vote you and his Mistress, personally-I bet she could have some fun taunting him with her half [:)]

The subs ass who took it..... Meaning it will belong to his Mistress. As she is the Owner of the Ass that took the paddle to breaking point. It should be Mounted and Given to him as a gift which the Mistress will then get to keep as the owner of said Ass. Sorry LP, you didn't do much. You swung something hard enough to break it. And the Owner of the establishment is one paddle short but they didn't do anything either. I do agree that you should buy them a new paddle. It was you who swung it to breaking point. Maybe ask SimplyMichael or WyldHrt....... The "I think I Shit Myself Paddle" Is HARD to Break... bit Michael's work is very pretty and decorative. QSM (All in the House that Jack Built)

If the breaking of the paddle was the only memorable thing about the scene, I'd likely bin it. I've broken 3 bats in 30 yrs of playing cricket and remember each incident as if it were yesterday. But I don't need what amounts to a chunk of (expensive) splintered willow laying around.... Of course, I was stepping into five and a half ounces of hard leather ball, not someone's padded butt. Maybe I might keep half as a souvenir - but it'd likely go in a clean up down the track, anyway. Focus.

Well, if you broke it in pieces, you could both take home a souvenir. My ex broke one on me, but it was hers and she kept it. If it had been a situation like the one you were in, I would probably want you (the top) to have it. But I am a suck up like that.[:)]

If you pay the cost of replacing it, you are paying for the next one to be bought. Not for that one. So the dungeon still owns the broken paddle.

If I owned the dungeon, I would have liked the top and bottom playing with it to use a sharpie, sign and date it (with something like, RIP 7/16/2010 - Broken on sub X's ass by Lady P), then I'd hang in on the wall. The paddle belongs to the dungeon.

I was originally going to say that the spanker, LP, keeps the handle half and the spankee should get the other half as souvenirs. If Mistress wants to take his half, that's her prerogative. But then I read Bita's response, about signing the two halves and hanging them back in the dungeon....I like that one. [:)]

Tough Question! The paddle was owned by the dungeon. They are now down one piece of equipment. I think social etiquette would require it's replacement even if they have said it's not an issue. These things always seem to turn around and bite you in the arse at a later date. If you have any sort of standing in the community it always pays to have clean hands. The paddle, broken or not still belongs to the dungeon. It's up to them to award the pieces to whomever. That being said, if I was the dungeon owner I would award the slaves owner the broken paddle as a tribute to the toughness of his/her slave. It's then up to him/her to share the tribute with you or not. You are still part of the memory and the awarding so your part won't be forgotten in a hurry.

Well if I was the host of that party, I'd have been out with a Sharpie to get the bits signed and they'd have been on display already! However, if the Dungeon isn't interested in that, then I think LadyP should get the bit She was left holding (the handle) and the bum errr I mean bottom, should get the bit he was in contact with! I say sign it, date it and offer it to sub's Mistress as a reminder someone else busted a paddle on her slave. It'll give her something to work towards. She can't go through life thinking her slave got the best beating from her now can she!

I've had a lot of things broken over my ass over the years...but never something that was owned by the dungeon. Most recently a four foot section of pipe that was covered in foam was snapped in half. THAT was one hard hit!!!! Generally the Top has offered me the pieces. I've kept a couple of things to remember an especially special scene, but mostly...I really just don't have a need for junk lying around. If the Top doesn't want it, it usually just gets pitched. I do like Bita's idea though...would be cool to see a dungeon decorated in disintegrated weaponry.

Since you offered to replace the paddle, in my mind that means the one you broke is now yours. If I were in those shoes I would go to the Mistress and ask her what SHE would like done with the two halves since she was the one gracious enough to offer up her sub for fun.
