<yish. I think I'm just gonna delete that whole little rant and pretend that my youth was much more pleasant.>

Sock puppets. I remember a short-lived fad involving sock puppets.

I remember growing up and seeing the record ads for those "Golden Oldies"..

Err.. they've already gone beyond mine for the "Golden Oldies" now. I just have to watch for em showing up on the Antique Roadshow now.

Whew, I can watch somebody else get upset.

*Blows the dust off my albums*

In the late 80's I made the acquaintance of a rather fascinating, sometimes perplexing and rather infuriating young woman, who has been an integral part of my life for sixteen years now. For all of the decades I've experienced thusfar, all I can say is...It's been a trip!

What a pleasure to see you here, John.

The 80's mmm Wendy Craig as Nanny Barbara Gray; leaving the army and walking round Europe; starting my first business and selling that and starting a second which broke even; nervous breakdown followed by my 3rd business sold that at a profit; then worked as a bus conductor and a night shift computer room supervisor.

Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister and the death of Socialism, and the ideology of the supremacy of the individual, in all things, the 'I' society and sod the community.

Queen and at the end of the decade, the death of Freddy Mercury.

I remember the Madonna like a virgin phase. After my father died, I went through his wallet, the only picture he had of me was in that phase. Did he want to remember me as the sweet little innocent girl I once was?

The 80s to me was too depressing. I was in a car accident, in the hospital 4 months and took a year and a half to rehabilitate. Lost the only "true" love in the same accident (true love up to this day, time etc). I remember the USA Hockey team winning the olympics while i was in the hospital.

I remember working at a wire company and rolling wires -very fast- into steel jigs to be welded. I remember having to clean up BEFORE going to restroom!
