Okay Level, as promised...

The show was awesome!  Truly one of the better shows i have ever seen.  It was at Paramount Theater in Oakland, which seats just 2800 people.  A wonderful, intimate setting and as you can guess, his sounds filled the place up.

Richard Wright was on keys.  Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music joined him on guitars.  Dick Parry on Sax (from Dark Side of the Moon).

Gilmours voice was smooth, and right on the money (no pun intended; he didn't sing "Money").  His guitar was as you would expect.  The light show was amazing, especially in such a small venue.  With the use of smoke, mirrors, lasers and stage lights, the audience was grabbed and sucked into the music.  The entire show was genius.

He opened with Breathe, followed by Time.  Then they played the entire new CD "On an Island."  Have you heard it?  It's very cool - filled with the cool sounds of Floyd - only one rockin song which, played live, knocked your socks off.

The second set...Oh my goodness...after a 15 minute intermission, one chord played on the keyboard and i knew.  i got so giddy.  Shine on You Crazy Diamond.  It was SO GOOD.  (That happens to be one of my favorite songs, ever).  my face almost burst from smiling so much.  Other great show hits were, "High Hopes" (Division Bell), "Wots the uh...deal?" and the full 23 minutes of Echoes, which was so intense.  From the first "ping" (and if you know Echoes you know what i'm talking about), we were grabbed.  The crowd went wild.  Totally wild.  And every note was perfect.  The band was tight.  They were just out there enjoying themselves, and it showed.

For their ovation they played Wish You Were here.  Gilmour competed with 2800 fans also singing along.  It gave me goose bumps!  Final song was Comfortably Numb.  2 1/2 hours of solid awesome music.  He took us on a 30 year retrospective journey and it was incredible.  i watched a masterpiece unfold before my eyes.

Wish you were there!!! : )

I'm jealous.  I've always wanted to see some fragment of Floyd in concert.  I think I'm holding out for Waters, though.  I might be waiting a while.

P.S.-  Love, love, love, love, love Division Bell.
