I love Amtrack!!!!!! If I can go my train...I will pay the extra to go that way. I always met the neatest people....the stories I could tell you.  Unfortunately the middle part of the country doesnt have alot of choices train wise. The Chicago to San Antonio train a friend of my works on. One of the porters that works in the snack car :)

You're right about the middle part of the country thing. It said i would have a 6 hour layover in illinois, and i was like, nope, no way am i doing that.

Status: offline 		Chicago is the main hub that why...that about how long I have to wait when I go from FtW to NYC

It a very nice station...lots of stuff to do. :) But trains tend to run late in that part of the country so sometimes its more or less...last time I was through there last july our train was 3 hours late so the wait there wasnt that long.  Plus I am set to preboard so I usually am one of the first on the train because of my anxiety
