ok, then you will do fine in a 3 or 4 cheeck block and tackle and a 8 mm hanging hemp will do fine as well. Assuming the man has som strenght equal to his size you could do a double X double... each one of those sheaves (the round part that helps the rope move is worth one) that is......... If you weigh 190.......add 50%....... 250# hook will hold you.....thats around a 5/8s soft bolt in the cieling..........very doable in a chicago apartment or home. If you own a home, I would spread that over 2 2x4 rafter there is the big problem. If you have an apartment that is rough, own your own home you can do a nice quiet bob vila. if you have a true double block and tackle.......you would have an endpoint (hard to do without pictures) thats 1 and double sheave and double sheave means he would have to hoist only 40 or if a double double and no hooking point 50 pounds............ That aint undoable at all.........you could fly girl! LOL, Ron
