We already live in a lovely motor home. It is the home of my dreams, in fact much larger and nicer than my dreams had ever been. It is a 42 foot long Class A diesel pusher. In the winter we live in an RV park in AZ surrounded by friends. We lead a very active social life for the 6 1/2 months we are there. In summer we park the motor home on Gary's 26 acres on a hillside overlooking a valley in Montana where we have relative peace and quiet and very little social life. We like the contrast between the two places. When winter is over we're ready for the Montana quiet. In September we get anxious to see all our friends in AZ. I can't ever imagine wanting to live in a regular house or apartment again. I'm too spoiled now. Edited to add: Gary would love to have a bus conversion. Since we haven't won the lottery yet he'll have to be happy with a regular motor home.

My dream house Is the one I live in now, moved and with some slight changes. The Home I live in now is a small world war 2 shell shock cottage, built by a family so that their returning veteran could freak out in peace and quiet with out having to be sent to the state mental hospital. It's about 250 square feet total. I would raise the roof about 2 feet, expand and remodel the bathroom so that it has a handicapped accessible bathtub/shower. Put in Storm windows and a storm door. HVAC and triple the amount of insulation in the walls and ceiling. I'd add an instant on hot water heater and seriously do something about the closet space or atleast have one of those custom closet organizer things. I'd love to add a skylight in the kitchen with stained glass and make sure that the bedroom windows didn't catch the morning sun..

250 sq ft? I'm pretty sure my bedroom alone is bigger than that! I like lil miss sunshine's RV idea. It would be nice to have all of America as my back yard. However, if I was to have a dream house, it would probably have a conservatory. I think it would be great fun to have a conservatory. I don't really care about the style or size of the house, but it would have to be on land that has a creek deep enough to swim in, and woods nearby. Lots of wooded land and fields. And a pole barn. Probably should have a giant jacuzzi bathtub big enough for at least 2 people.

Splorff.. thats gorgeous.. I could totally love something like that. My dream has been a huge, old house, with HUGE wrap around porches, loads of windows, and 2 or three floors (updated with a suitable number of bathrooms, natural gas appliances, and solar panels for heating water),. outbuildings (maybe a MIL cottage?), and barn. Havent been working towards it because my credit rating is so far in the toilet that I only see THAt changing if I win the lottery or marry a reallllllllly wealthy man. LOL

I bought this little two bedroomed town house for £12.5K in 1985. Since then house prices have just kept rising. Now its worth approaching £150K. In 1985 I wanted something big and rambling as you describe. I had my eye on a Victorian property not far away with three flights and many bedrooms, huge gardens and high ceilings. It was £27K. I could not raise that much. The last time it came up for sale it was £245K ! How sickening is that ? Still, I suppose I am happy, at least I made something from the property boom. I’d love to get away to some isolated spot, and I am aiming to do it.

A little white washed cottage on a beach, something that looks like it jumped out of a Kinkaid painting. Complete with window boxes, thatched roof and a wall to wall fireplace.

The place I fell in love with - at Biddeford Pool, Maine. I tried to embed the picture but it says the file is too large. The perfect getaway from my other home - Central Park apartment as Chrisincuffs described. Both homes would have amazing kitchens. [:)]

I used to dream of a home where I could walk out of my door and the ocean would be at my feet. The view would stretch out onto the horizon with nothing in its way. Living on a boat gives us that dream. We can settle for a while in the most beautiful of places with azure blue sea and white sand. We can swim with dolphins and stingrays and we can reach out and touch nature and all its force. Life is one big adventure and the great thing is, wherever we go our home comes with us. No debt, no mortgage, no nosy neighbors to hear the screams! and no pressure to work long hours. We have teased each other about what we would do if we were to win the lottery (not that we ever do it!) and we both agree that we would just buy a bigger yacht and keep doing what we are doing.

I love my little apt and as far as I'm concerned, this is my dream house. It's perfect! It is just the right size for me. It's in an old building, which I love, it's easy to take care of. My Dream house would be a 4 car garage built into a hillside with a full size walkout basement behind the garage with a 2 story house built on top with a balcony overlooking the walkout basement, a 10' high wooden fence around the backyard with a driveway long enough to park 16 cars-4 cars side by side & 4 cars end to end for guests. If I ever hit the lottery this would be my dream home.
