It's not a matter of who is contacting us sub males. Very few women contact us -- they wait for contacts. It's a matter of browsing profiles and knowing we have no interest in 75 percent of them because they want domination = money.

Wrong sock puppet, I replied to the other one.

Jeffff -> RE: Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money? (8/3/2010 4:23:39 PM)

Like many people, he has gotten caught up in the rigamoral. Once you get ging it can be hard to stop.

Why don't we use rigamoral anymore?

These people are ALREADY "listed" in this category if, in their profile, they mention they're a pro domme, as 99.9% of them do. We want them categorized as such because we have no interest in them, just as you may have no interest in a gay woman.

I have no interest in unemployed men. Should there be a "broke ass" category to filter by?
I have no interest in men who can't spell. Should there be a "illiterate" category to filter by?

People have an unlimited amount of criteria that you can measure them by. Obviously adding a search feature for each one is not viable, and more importantly, they are not all central to the theme of CM. Nobody seems to have ANY problem with the around 150 different search options that exist presently, but when some guy proposes adding 1 more he gets flamed.

quote:

What I'm asking is why pro-domme should be a special category to filter by.

Because there is an obvious demand for it as this thread shows, and because pro-domme ACTUALLY IS a different category than non-pro-domme, and it's a category that has a DIRECT connection to the theme of the website.

but my main issue is that you're singling out the ONE group that YOU are not interested in as though you're completely oblivious to the fact that EVERYONE on this site gets message from people that THEY are not interested in.

The fact that other people have problems too does not take away from the merit of solving this problem, in fact it speaks on behalf of the idea of problem solving and that this server is in need of solutions.

I have no interest in men who can't spell. Should there be a "illiterate" category to filter by?

More on topic - money is a kink for some people. I think if there was a way to filter by ALL kinks it would be workable (then I would be able to report anyone who messaged me outside of my search parameters as a "scammer" - oh hey I kinda like this idea) but my main issue is that you're singling out the ONE group that YOU are not interested in as though you're completely oblivious to the fact that EVERYONE on this site gets message from people that THEY are not interested in.

Ok but what about the thousands of men out there that have meaningful profiles that say all sorts of things that ARE NOT TRUE and just want in women's pants? Take a look around at this site right now. There are several threads on "fakes" "wannabes" and many people voicing their frustration over similar subjects. Having categories isn't going to make scammers behave. That's just silly. It sucks that there are crappy people in the world, but there are. It's not going to get easier for you. I'm sorry. You're going to have to wade through the asshats just like everyone else does if the way you choose to meet partners is through internet ads. All of that and the fact that just because someone says they aren't into financial domination or being a pro in their profile doesn't MAKE IT TRUE mean that while it's an idea, it really isn't an idea that is likely to solve any of these issues or frustrations.

I replied to you. And what you said.

Fejjjj -> RE: Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money? (8/3/2010 4:26:43 PM)

That too.

Thank you for pointing out my error.

You seem nice.

Considering all the things I have heard about you.

WHAT ABOUT THEM? There seems to be this mentality around here that if "we get something that's useful to us, you lose out somehow." HOW does adding a pro-domme search feature have ANYTHING to do with the above quotation?

Five-ish posters on a thread with 2033 hits (as of now)? I'd hardly call that a conclusive demonstration of demand...

And four out of the five are the same person.

Fejjjj -> RE: Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money? (8/3/2010 4:28:37 PM)

1997 of those want me.

1836 have offered my money!

laurell3 -> RE: Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money? (8/3/2010 4:28:41 PM)

How many people work on this site for money?

How many demands do you think they can meet?

Who will police your new idea?

Are you willing to fund it?

What about all the other hundreds of threads by people bitching for other reasons about fakes, scams, losers and liars and wanting the site to police that too? Don't they get what they want too?

No, when a guy WHINGES he gets flamed.

If someone made a post here that said "Hello, I'm a software engineer and I would like to volunteer my time to enhance the search criteria on the other side to allow Pro Dommes to have their own category" I doubt he'd be flamed.

It's "I don't like this I'm going to complain until someone else fixes it" that gets flamed...not proposing ideas.

Is there a demand for it from pro Dommes?

Well considering the vast, vast, VAST majority of this thread has gone with "meh I don't really care about Pro Dommes" I'd say that you're in the minority. It sucks to be in the minority but there are other websites out there that will be better suited for you if you are unwilling to invest your time into improving this one.

Right. And I'm not saying that's not true. But as was indicated earlier, there are men who say they're women and vice versa on this site, people can lie about their race, sexual orientation, weight, height, etc...I know people would still lie!! But if it would make NO difference, then I'd say, okay, bad idea. I think it would make a difference.

You have a tendancy to skip over all the really good points of my thread and pick out the one point that you can argue.

Yes, it's not conclusive. Worst-case scenario, it's a feature that turns out to not get that much use and the design team wasted a few hours updating the tables for peoples profiles.

Best case scenario, it improves the quality of service sub men looking for pro doms, sub men looking for NON-PRO doms, pro doms, and non-pro doms, by connecting people through searches more efficiently.

Really? That's what it was? ACTUALLY BRINING IT UP WAS WHINING? WHINING?

Maybe people just shouldn't be allowed to speak if they have an idea.

After all, ideas for improvement are just "whining," and no maker of any product is interested in them.

Fejjjj -> RE: Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money? (8/3/2010 4:35:10 PM)

What has spurred it on is your use of 3 or 4 different screen names.

It is very obvious and it is annoying.

Actually I said "whinging" and not "whining." [8|]

And yes, the OP was whining. He was not offering any productive solutions, he was just complaining about something he doesn't like.

A) the group of people who want and would benefit from this feature is not as small as you might think
B) Even if it was a tiny minority, what is the philosophy around here? Fuck the minority?
C) The vast majority of this thread is comprised by people who would either USE this feature, and are FOR it, or won't use this feature, and are therefore, for some inexplicable reason, AGAINST it.

You essentially just said to me, "If you don't like it, go somewhere else."

You're obviously pre-disposed to keeping things the way they are. Ironically, nothing would likely change from your perspective if this feature were added.

Yes, if you ignore the actual SUBJECT of this thread... :

Couldn't CM Have a Category for Dommes Who Aren't After Money?

Your above statement may be true.
