HybridBunny -> I've met many... (8/20/2010 10:20:53 AM)

I've been here for years and I've met many quality subs/slaves. Out of around 20 maybe only 3 or 4 were not worth metioning. Good luck out there!

wandersalone -> RE: I've met many... (8/21/2010 11:00:42 AM)

smiles... yep there are a lot of fantastic people on CM and they are even nicer when you meet them in real life

Jeffff -> RE: I've met many... (8/21/2010 11:13:29 AM)

I agree, I too have met many.

Most of them were even tall!

alwayssummer -> RE: I've met many... (8/21/2010 4:24:52 PM)

I think it's true of  both Doms and subs on Collarme.  I've never met anybody in person from cm who was much different from who they said they were.  Lots of  good people here, some even have become longtime friends.  We are, after all, a community of people with some oddball (to outsiders) practices.  So it's a wonderful perk to find friends who understand here.

SirGuy68 -> RE: I've met many... (8/22/2010 8:03:43 PM)

OK I just wrote a cleric reply on another forum and some how clicked this thread by mistake but.. ?????

Is it me or is it the East coast then?

Be Well

WyldHrt -> RE: I've met many... (8/22/2010 8:46:57 PM)

I've met lots of people from this site, and one even became my partner at work as well as a close friend. [:D]
There are lots of good people here. I've found that most peeps get out of CM what they put into it.
I will admit to being biased toward meeting those from the forums, though. Reading people's posts on a wide variety of topic gives you a better 'feel' for who they are, IMO.

LadyPact -> RE: I've met many... (8/22/2010 9:04:30 PM)

I  have to agree with the lovely Wyldhrt on that.

Miss you.  [:)]

Is it you or the East Coast what?  That doesn't have cool people?  I am from Australia and I have made lasting friendships and met people from a number of different states here as well as have met friends in Florida, Canada, and one friend from Michigan (who traveled to see me in St Catherines, Canada).

What you put in is what you get out of CM I think.  I built up friendships over time on the forums with people but I also have made friends with people on the CM side of the website as well.

[:)]

LadyPact -> RE: I've met many... (8/23/2010 7:31:16 AM)

Considering that half of the people that I've met from CM were on the East Coast (meaning the East Coast of the USA for wander's sake) I don't think it has anything to do with location.

That's the one that can be used to make those lovely stripes.  Are you saying you would like a refresher course?  [8D]

I totally agree with you LP.  When reading the positive experience threads what I notice is that these are all people who are willing to step out from behind their computers and to travel, whether it be a kilometre (or a mile for you non-Aussies [:)] ) or a thousand (or many thousands) to meet new friends. And we are all optimistic people who know and believe that there are good people behind a lot of these screen names.

VaguelyCurious -> RE: I've met many... (8/23/2010 7:43:53 AM)

This thread made me smile. I've met lovers, play partners, and friends here. I don't think I've ever had a bad CM meet. :-)

[:D] It's not that far ... LOL ....

But I am sure meeting you ... was worth the drive, for your friend! [:)]

To the point of the OP .. there are MANY nice people here ... but it is easiest to relate when they are from the forums ...

Thank you all! For being wonderful !!! [:)]

<wandersalone > " Is it you or the East Coast what? "
I mean East Coast United States, Connecticut / New York City / Boston, anything with in a days driving distance specifically referring to CM over the past 10 years.

One thing I see is that this thread is mainly women. Maybe I should be VERY cleric....
. . for a single aging white male on the East Coast of the United States, living in lower Connecticut near New York City, specifically referring to using collarme.com over the past 10 years to meet people, male or female (and I don't mean in a sexual way) who enjoy events, clubs, conversation, skiing and other life's fun events .

I don't mean meet or find events from the forum side / collar chat.

Be Well
Guy

PS and sorry Lady Pact your training on using quotes is too cumbersome to quote / edit multiple threads and do on mac browser so I am back to raw text mode CMD C / V and " _ _ _ " :(
HEY MAYBE THAT IS THE MISSING DETAIL!!! I don't use windoze!!! but, no wait, other sights I use the same OS. Must be me :(((((((((

hmmm so if you have spent ten years or so not able to find many people on the CM side living on the East Coast and willing to meet up and here we are showing people from all over the world who have met through the forums maybe that is an idea for you - join  in more on this side, get to know people and arrange a get together.  when I travelled to the US last time I actually arranged my trip to meet a number of CM (forum) friends so I traveled to all sorts of places I wouldn't have gone to usually.  [:)]

What you say wandersalone does make sense as in 3D I can always strike up a conversation with some one. (That and I am not photogenic but put me in leather boots at 6" 3' in a crowded club and it is hard to miss me) The web is a completely different story. In order to arrange meeting some one (just to socialize, I don't mean meet for a date) I would first have to get a reply back from an email.

OK I will be a whore and advertise here. I will be at the Cape (Massachusetts USA ;) labor day weekend. Say hello and share a glass of absinthe. The first Saturdays of the month (except this Sept) I am at Ulteria in New Haven CT at 365 Crown. Friday Aug. 27th I will be at the Black Domme /White sub Munch in Manhattan -

Dinner first at the Moonstruck Dinner, located at 400 West 23rd Street (on the corner of 23rd street and 9th Avenue).
Afterwards, a short walk over to the world famous Paddles on 26th street (Between 7th and 8th Aves.)

I'll fit right in - lol :

Be Well
Sir Guy

PS are the ski resorts still open in Australia? I could get some summer skiing in still.

oh I don't know, you seem to scrub up alright in your photos [:)]

One of my colleagues went skiing last weekend, she said it was great! We are finally heading out of winter though (maybe another month of it left) so you would have to be quick.

And fyi...most of the people that I have met and become friends with I got to know through our repartee on the message boards here rather than the other CM personals side.  as there are a lot of Americans here start joining in the conversations and figure out which ones live nearby.  Polls and Random stupidity is often anything but that and is a great way to strike up casual discussions with people

I look forward to reading about some of your positive experiences in the coming months [:)]

I agree. When I joined CM, Polls and Random was the first place I posted after the intro forum. A couple of months later, I was in Las Vegas, celebrating the birthday of a forum regular with a great group of folks that I had never met. I still consider those peeps friends to this day, and some are very close friends whom I have spent many 'family' holidays with.

While I enjoy the discussions on the serious forums here, PRS is where the friendships/ relationships are most often formed and cemented, IMO.

ETA- I like your pics, OP, esp the ones without the sunglasses (although you get bonus points for the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale).
That said, you might want to fix the date on the one that says it was taken after a party Nov 2010 [;)]
