Hi Everybody, I feel fortunate to find myself in the company of so many wonderful people here and I hope for the honor of getting to know some of you better. My vanilla background is nothing extraordinary but I'll share it for what it is worth. I joined the USAF right out of High School expecting to be out in 4 years and in college. Four years later, I'm in Vietnam and veterans were welcome, to colleges, like a skunk at a picnic back then. So then, I did nearly 23 years instead and then went to college (for only two years). In addition to the war, my USAF career took me all over the World (though I had lived abroad before then). If variety is the spice of life, I guess I hit the jackpot? I spent 26 years abroad and travelled/lived in 43 countries besides this one and got to every state, except four, in the United States. Besides English, I learned to converse in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Japanese and developed lesser capacity in some other languages too. My job was such that I got to write 40 books and see them published. Later I had numerous pieces published in various newspapers, including USA Today (though probably little that stands the test of time). Along the way, I've been fortunate to be blessed with a wife and child (who is grown and on his way). My wife is not into alternative lifestyle, though she allows it and was in it with me (albeit reluctantly). I've resumed it only recently, at the age of 60, and have had great experiences since, though I'm going on 62. I hope to continue here, though we'll see who might have any use for an old guy? Most Respectfully disretion7 (Phil)
