I am 44 and at my age most likely my eggs are scrambled let alone attempting to produce milk when most women 50 plus are grandmothers. What thornhappy said. Prolactin is a pituitary hormone, not an ovarian hormone. Adoptive mothers who have never been pregnant have induced lactation, and even post-menopausal women have been known to. They may not produce as much as a healthy nursing mother would, but it's still possible to produce. I'm using wild yam cream and breast/nipple stimulation eight times a day and it's working.
