Dear Ms. MoRsSweetOne; I am rather concerned about anything inserted in the anus that can puncture the wall and or membrane of the anal canal and bowel ducts. I am of the belief I know what you speak of at WalMart, and though it is great for such uses, I think the hook itself has too much cresent to insert. You need something like a curved finger. Where it does not put real pressure on the internal anus, membrane and ducts but, just on the entry muscle. I have used plastic bear claws myself. Ones you can find in Native American Craft shops. They have a hole to thread through and the curve is not severe as to dig into the more internal reaches of the anus. One can also insert another bear claw into the vagina and like a pinch put pressure on it and then you have a gravity clamp. Another plus, is that plastic can be sanitized. Another possible option is a plastic speculum. Anal or vaginal, you can spread these openings and, they also provide a means to "tie to." Medical supply stores and some kinky supply stores carry them. I have used plugs and such in the anal region, then keep the plug in place by tying it to a waste chain and or harness, much like the ancient "sanitary napkin belt," [Can you tell I am old-LOL] --keeps the plug in regardless of pressure or pull. That will also make a nice tie off point. All insertable toys should be absent of risk to puncture membranes, tissues or tear, give abrasions from rubbing, pressure, inserting and taking out of any site. Safety concerns should always rule over design and use. Lady Hugs
