I don't see anal play as a sign of my dominance or overtaking of a man. It isn't the ultimate anything for me and I could live without it happily, for as long as I live. If my guy doesn't like it, great. If he does, great too. To me it is a sexual thing and has nothing to do with dominance. Kink I can live without for the most part. I would miss it, but it isn't a requirement. (Okay I might miss it a lot, but I have no doubt I could convince someone to play at least a little. lol)
What I don't wish to live without are the d/s dynamic's and for many, they manifest in sexual ways. It is a turn on for me too, so I am not pointing a prudish finger at anyone. I want good sex and getting kinky is a whole lot of fun, but I want most, a willing heart, good disposition, submission to who I am and my love/leadership/desires/whim's. His kneeling beside me as we start the day and the look in his eye, means far more to me than plugging his ass.
