Hair Removal Methods? - 9/5/2010 10:16:27 AM

Hi folks. I'm looking for some general info on hair removal methods.

I've never liked body hair, especially on my subs. But I'm finding that just shaving has quite a few drawbacks:

1. It's slow. A razor has to be cleaned off every 3 seconds or it loses cutting ability.
2. It's not very suitable for sensitive areas
3. Risk of injury if a mistake is made.

So I'm wondering, what other methods of hair removal are there, what do you use for yourself or subs?
Waxing?
Epilation?
Laser Hair removal?
Hair removal creams like Veet?

Or any other methods I've not mentioned. I'm particularly interested in information like:

Cost (what kind of special equipment or consumables are needed)
Can it be done at home?
Is it painful?
How fast is it compared to shaving?

All replies appreciated, thank you in advance.

I've never been waxed but it would be my preferred method.  As for veet or nair, you have to be very careful around the labia and general area, if it penetrates there will be a severe burning sensation and it may keep play at a minimum for awhile.  For now, I shave but I hate it.  Those hair removal thingies that have rotating blades are supposed to be good, but very painful as I understand they yank out the hairs.  Hope this helps some.

There are very good razors available for shaving, you just need to be careful. Laser hair removal is more for small areas like unwanted facial hair and is done over a period of time with multiple appointments and is costly. Creams can cause nasty rashes if your skin is too sensitive. I like waxing best, however when you're waxing genital area it's best left to a professional and do be prepared for a bit of pain.

Good evening! I shave or shaved I should say...haven't for the last 2 weeks. Major rash and sensitivity right now. Plus, nothing gets really smooth, mostly stubble. Laser I have heard take multiple passes and is quite expensive. I wanna try waxing as it is the best way to get it all smooth and problem free but it is very expensive for me and I cannot think of many Masters that pay for their subs to be waxed. But I would definitely lean toward waxing if I had my way. Good luck! Very truly,Zechriel Sorry my enter button stopped working :(

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, Tigger is willing to cover the cost of waxing.  I'ma kinda worried about having it done the first time, but he promises to be there to hold my hand ( he may have broken bones after ) and kiss the booboo.  It does get easier with time, but if you dare shave in between, you will get crap from the person you go to.  Makes it more painful.  And me not a masochist in the least, not a good combination.

I go with brazillian waxing personally.  However there are some drawbacks:

1.  It can be quite expensive and needs to be done every 4 to 6 weeks.  Price range is anywhere from $50 to $90 depending on what part of the country you live in.

2.  Even though it's the most effective means of getting smooth and bare, there will ALWAYS be some remaining hairs left over, especially if your subs pubic hair is course like mine is.

3.  The total smoothness only lasts for 3 to 4 weeks before it starts growing back and in order to be waxed you HAVE to let it grown out to about 1/4 inch so that the wax will have something to grip for the next appointment.  This means that you will ALWAYS have to deal with your sub having pubic hair at one time or another.  The upside is that when it grows back it is very fine and soft since it's newly generated and weak from being ripped follicle and all from the last time.

4.  Painful.  If you go this route I recommend your sub take some kind of a major painkiller for her first appointment.  I.E. Vicodin, Oxycontin, etc.  The first time is by far the most painful.  Once she starts going back for regular maintenance appointments every 4 to 5 weeks depending on her hair growth, a double dose of Ibuprofen will generally suffice to take the edge off.

I've never had to use any painkillers myself nor have I ever heard of anyone needing them ... not even ibuprofen, 420 or aspirin. But every one is different :D

For all types of waxing, use a HARD wax - eliminates the need for those ripping cloth strips ... feels REALLY REALLY GOOOOOOD going on and removal is also ... hmmm, nice. Always use a good oil afterward, not petroleum based if possible. Beauty supply stores carry all the products needed. You can get started for under $30 with a beginner's kit.

Personally, I recommend that you go to the salon to have it done the first time, have your dom/me or sub come with you to take pics, watch the process and learn from it, then head straight over to the beauty supply store and pick up what you need. Eventually, you'll want to pick up a hot wax warmer, it'll melt the wax to the perfect temperature as opposed to microwaving it, which often times is uneven heat distribution and can burn. THAT's not fun at all. But slathering the hot wax on? DELIGHTFUL!

With the consent of the concerned slave, I give her the choice of waxing or have her lasered. Nearly always, the option of lasering is (eventually) chosen. It takes about 6-9 months, about 6-9 treatments. The method of using a sack of ice to freeze the area before each laser "tick" helps quite a lot to make it bearable. The main drawback is that if the laser is passed over a tattoo, the tattoo blurs, and piercings (if any) have to be taken out. So if lasering is part of a total bodymod of the vaginal area, you should first do the lasering, after that the piercings and/or tattoos. When piercings are done before the lasering, it might be a very good idea the piercings have healed and can be taken out for at least 30 minutes.

Also be careful with creams around the male genitals. my husband had some seriously sore balls for about 2 weeks when we were just trying to do his legs. We used the Veet to do a head to toe, but left a heart shaped patch on his chest. It was winter, no one ever looks at you wiht out clothing then right? wooops, new dr visit he did an ekg, hehe...very fun...for me. the creams did make him break out on his ass though. now we stick to shaving

as for wax, just an fyi, you CAN be allergic to the wax. I finally gave in at the urging of my daughter and got my brows done. Almost swollen shut eyes for several days, was not what i was looking for.

Epilators are the tool of the devil. I still have a row of scars on my lower leg from my singularly awful attempt.

I've found sugaring works better than waxing.  The ingredients are natural, don't harden, although you have to use strips.  So if it doesn't feel right on your skin, it can always be washed off using a warm washcloth and rinsed repeatedly until it's all off.  Used it a few times and I found that it left much less of a rash or a reaction.

Might have to try the sugaring. Where do you get the materials for that?

You can find sugaring kits at most drug stores and places like Wal-Mart and other large retailers with the waxing kits.  You can also check online if you do any ordering from there.

At the moment I pluck my pubes. It is a bit time consuming initially but it's inexpensive, effective, lasts for 3-4 weeks, and how painful it is depends on your personal pain tolerance. Personally, I kinda like it

I've had laser hair removal on my underams and it has worked GREAT.

For my pubic area I get waxed every 5-6 weeks. Also works GREAT.

I shave it, and I used to get razor burn and such, but no more. I shave every other day and use hair conditioner now instead of shaving cream or soap. The conditioner makes for a smoother, closer shave without razor burns or bumps at all, and it seems like the shaving doesn't take as long as it used to either. And I still use the cheapo Dollar Store razors but the hair conditioner seems to make all the difference.

I have tried Veet once and it smells bad, also it did not help in removing hair. Waxing would probably be the best.
