I blocked someone after receiving a rude email from them. They created another profile, just to send me an email that was even more rude, including some pictures of animal abuse that is against the TOS here on CM. I blocked that email, and received yet ANOTHER email from another profile from the same person that was just as rude as the first two. What am I supposed to do? Go into hiding? I'm here to learn from the boards, but I also keep my profile public so that locals can contact me. I'm a member of Fetlife as well, and have made a few contacts for the local TNG group here in Orlando, but beyond that I haven't been able to talk to anyone interesting so that I'd feel better about hiding my profile here. I did report the emails, I reported the vulgar, illegal pictures, but I don't feel like playing Russian Roulette with my inbox.

Contact support and explain you are being harrassed by this person. Did you save the emails.

There is a new feature in your inbox, where you can hover over a message and see the first few lines or first paragraph (depending on how they typed it). Feel free to delete a message unread and block the user, if it is an inappropriate message. Please do not send retaliatory messages, as it will start a never-ending cycle.

I had someone do something like that once. I decided to write them really weird emails to see how long it took for them to get creeped out by me... it took only 5 emails....lol

You've gotten good advice so far, and may I suggest that you don't continue to also post about other websites to which you belong, else your problem person reads this post and follows you to other sites? Why post even more disclosive info here? It's going to invite more problems from that guy.

FR: What's the big deal here ? Don't open the CMmails and delete them as unread. The sender will either give up or keep wasting his/her time. Why block them if they are gong to keep re creating themselves, at least now you know who the sender is and you know you don't want to read their CMmails. I'm sure you get junk email in your regular email and junk mail in your home email. Do you get stresssed out over that ? Probably not. No difference here, really. mbmbn

Only advice is don't reply to the emails AT ALL. They've proven that they don't care that you don't want them to send these letters, so at this point even negative attention still counts as attention, and thus will encourage. Don't send an angry message, a pitying message, a pleading message, a reasonable message, nothing.

I have been cyber-stalked by someone for a few months. He would do what the OPs stalker did. Kept deleting his profile after I blocked him and create another. He has a unique style of writing so now if he writes me again I would recognize his style and delete the message. It's been a while since I heard from him but now I'm ready. M21 is right about not writing anything retaliatory. These creeps want a reaction and if they don't get it they eventually go away. Unfortunately, its usually later rather than sooner because they're morons. [;)]

IF you are the type of person who absolutely HAS TO KNOW what they said then click the option to save the mail. The mail will be forwarded to your private mail registered with cm. You can then read it there and still delete it here unread.

Wow I had the same problem. Just not the dirty pictures. I wonder if we are all talking about the same person. I just starting ignoring him. I eventually had to block and he isn't bothering me anymore

I also like jellie's suggestion, about forwarding the message to your external email so you can go see what the whole thing said if you really must, then delete it unread from your cmail box, and the stalker-type retains no clue.
