Define switch, what it means, what your understanding of this CM label means to you in this present day.

The CM label for switch doesn't mean anything to me, really. It's just the closest thing they have for "curious explorer." I explain my thoughts in greater detail on how it applies to my in my journal entries, so I'm not going to repeat them here.

As for the present day... who I am doesn't change based upon time. I had the same mindset when I first realized I even had a mind way back when as I do now, and I cannot fathom an event that would make me change it looking ahead into the future. I am what I am... past, present, and future.

ok  Switch to me is someone who enjoys to be whipped chained  tied or whatever it be they enjoy the dom to bring upon them in the ways which they do at the time of being. Then the same person is quite into taking him or herself into the role of dominant and doing many things to the submissive. yet I would hope people set safe words etc conversations of interests and what already is greatly liked or curious about whatever before the scenes took place.

Hate who? Switches?

Everyone has their own preferences, usually based on either personal experience or uninformed opinions. To say that people on this site hate switches is a bit too sweeping a statement for me...and I'm a switch.

It appears you're replying to the statement made about the label of switch being the closest thing available for "curious explorer" on CM. I've heard that said...just another opinion, one that sometimes fits the person who chooses it as a label on CollarMe. I doubt it means the person posting it "hates" people who identify as a switch.

My identifying as a switch offline is a bit different than the way some people use that label on CM online.

I thought I was starting to see a pattern to CM. Dom / Top / Bottom / Sub / Slave / Switch - all just labels revolving around physical sensations.

I especially noticed it in the dominant female members. Again more physical than life style.

Happily!

In my case, I chose to categorize myself under the label of "switch" because I enjoy both being submissive under a dominant lover, or dominant over a submissive lover. I'm not dicking around with stupid cliche capitalization rules. All of the things I do to someone who is being submissive under me (to the extent of my anatomy) I have first tried on myself, or had done to me. I come up with awesome ideas for sexual torture because I play out MY submissive fantasies on other people. If it turns me on to masturbate to the idea of having it done to me, then it USUALLY works pretty good when I actually DO it to a submissive. XD

As far as your interpretation that we're discriminated against on this service, I cannot say. I have had plenty of contacts with plenty of people, not a single one has been rude or unkind to me. I've even already had a hook-up... of course, he is a switch too. But anyway, I've had several dominants contact me as well, I'm actually in a rather nice conversation with one. NOT a role play scenario... an ACTUAL intelligent CONVERSATION. Maybe, just maybe, that's why we're discriminated against? Because we can have conversations instead of just slapping automatically into a "role" we've decided we have to "fit"? Some people need the whole Yes Sir, no Sir... I do not. I much prefer an intelligent response to my questions, and an intelligent answer to those questioning me.

Switch- that awesome thing I cut off the tree to kick his ass with. Weeping Willow switches are awesome!!!!

lol

Seriously though, switches, to Me, are like the bisexuals of the BDSM world—they will go either way. Nothing more.

This is the female side of our profile.

Switch to me is as I see in my master.  He is a dom most of the time but in the same breath he can also become submissive.  It really depends on his moods at any particular time during play.  I love seeing both sides of him.  Myself, I am usually sub but am trying my domme side but usually end up being sub in the end. Guess I need to work more on being domme.

I prefer to answer multiple choice questions.  Seriously, it's complicated. I don't have an official definition for you.  I'm 90% sub, and when I top, it's more about play topping, not being especially dominant. I have a sadistic streak I'm cultivating, and I like being obeyed, but in my primary relationship, I'm submissive and my partner never is. Bottoming is another matter - my partner is a masochist and will partake in this interest with me or friends, but not very often. Other combinations are equally valid. So, it's definitely not a simple matter of "going both ways", although I suppose that's correct, in way.  Plus, I think it's safe to say it's rarely close to 50-50. I think my bisexuality is much about "going both ways" - it's more symmetrical and I care more about Dom/sub than the person's gender.

I think of there as being two kinds of switches.

1. Those who have both sides and NEED to use both.
2. Those who have one side or the other and NEED that side, but can change to the other if wanted.  But it's not a need.

I have reached a point where I don't even think its definable. The same question keeps getting asked. People come here and take time to answer and then the question appears again.
Just as submission/dominance could mean a thousand different things, so could switch.

Who knows and it can go many way I guess but for me it's a head space. I have only topped once and like it but for the most part I want to stay as a sub to learn more and more. That way I think I would make a better Dom. Why I am this way the heavens only know But that my take on  the word switch.
Miss Rage you sound a a hoot.
