Too bad you're a female.  I am a smoker and I prefer my subs to be smokers as well.  And like you I smoke menthol as well.

My Master was a heavy smoker until the beginning of February when His health issues practically forced Him to have to quit - He still has the occasional one at the speedway which is a very big trigger for Him. He has smoked for 40 years and this is the longest He has been off them.

I am an ex smoker it will soon be 20 years since I quit. I am not bothered by the smell of cigarette smoke and I used to go and buy His cigarettes for Him. I would sometimes comment on the amount of cigarettes He was smoking, and believe me He knew when He was smoking too much [:)] but I never asked Him to stop. He feels bad enough when He gives in to the craving [&o]

I am so proud of Him for quitting......He has tried so many times over the years[:)]

I did.

Actually, it was more like He found me, I was a smoker, He didn't want to build a permanent relationship with a smoker, but I wanted Him.  So I quit - cold turkey.  Asked Him to devise a punishment for me to help keep me from lighting up again, and He did.  And I haven't.  That's one punishment that will never happen because, six years later, I no longer have any desire for a smoke - mostly because the smell is horrendous and I'm completely shocked at the realization that I used to smell like that!!!  Ugh!

littlepetkana -> RE: Smoking Sub? What can be done? (4/28/2006 12:48:01 AM)

I am incapable of a rigorous excersize routine, and yes, I'm overweight.

I'm very very fond of eating chicken nugget happy meals.

I smoke. I try to keep it down to one pack a day.

I do not shave every day, because I have a daughter, and I can't get in the shower long enough to shave every day.

These are things about me.
Now, the thing you ask yourself, is are you looking for a Dom who molds you into who He wants, or a Dom who molds you into who you want to be?

If the latter, He will be agreeable to those things you cannot give up, or cannot try harder at. He will understand.

I began smoking at 15 and stopped several years ago though from time to time especially when I am upset I will crave one or more. Recently, I went out and bought a pack and my Master was rather disappointed. He told me I could smoke if I wanted to, drink if I wanted to, go get high if I wanted and give that control up to those things or I could let him be my only Master.

I was not happy at the moment I wanted  that nicotine  but that is what it was a want. It is not something I "need" to be happy or healthy. It is not something he has to allow or give me.

He doesn't want me smoking for several reason most of the health related and I love him for that. Personally I don't see me with someone who smokes but that is my choice. To me it would be like a recovering alchoholic working as a bartender. It just does not work. However, that is my choice and those that come into our lives can either choose not to smoke around me or simply choose not to be around.

Smoking has been a thorny issiue for me as well.Allot of Dommes will Not allow it. However some will,at least on Some level. Most who do allow it insist i do so outside or Not near them.
I will say this it seems to be allot more acceptable on the east coast than the west.

Reasonable -> RE: Smoking Sub? What can be done? (4/28/2006 8:28:58 AM)

The west coast is more alarmed about the health risks of smoking-and the public stance aainst second hand smoke is legislated here. It's a harmful habit that I personally don't allow-the only drugs I use are caffienne, and the occasional pain killer..

Let me give one view of this. If I own property and allow it to engage in a destructive habit-whatever that is-I am negligent in my responsibility to both of us.

Period-it's not open to compromise.

Padriag -> RE: Smoking Sub? What can be done? (4/28/2006 8:52:12 AM)

You don't have to quit, but your habit does limit your options somewhat.  You might want to specifically look for a dominant who smokes.  Some dominants would require you to quit (like myself for example, I'm highly allergic to tobacco smoke and as it happens, sick this weekend due to someone smoking in the non-smoking section of a resteraunt).  Its like any other choice we make, the more we select specific traits in a partner, the more we narrow our possibilities.  Ultimately I would suggest you ask yourself what is more important to you, smoking or finding a dominant or both, and act accordingly.

Someone here wrote a story about how her Master helped her quit smoking, i loved it. He sat a pack of cigarettes down and said, you can only have one Master "choose". I think when the right Master comes along, all our little habits may not seem so important. (Wish I could remember who told the story).

Oh jali, that's so wicked, and so true.  When i first started with the Him, He said i wouldn't have to quit.   But recently the doctor said i have to, and it's become a huge issue.   i had quit once before for nearly 4 years, and i went back to it because i liked it.  Now, quitting is just 4 times harder.

Now, under that "What kind of Master would I be if I stood by and let you kill yourself?"  clause,  The Him is directing me to quit.  It should be so simple to choose the Master that cares for me over the 20 little masters in that package, but i truly struggle with it.

i have never felt so willful and rebellious in my life, and i am shocked i even have the capacity to keep disobeying that direct order, something i have never ever done before.

i've gotten on zyban pills to help, but that doesn't ease myself, and the Him knowing that i wasn't able to do it out of pure obedience.    i think that knowledge might be the worst punishment of all.

to the OP, i know of several Doms with the smoking fetish, one in memphis that adores seeing women with long cig holders and curls of smoke...   you may find one.  but don't forget, if doctor changes your plan, Dom might support doc.  <grins>

That is the hardest thing I am having to adjust to while moving to California to Maryland. In California no one smokes in public places. Not in restraunts. Not in bars.In Maryland people smoke every where!

Blessed Be,
