MissAsylum -> Lubes that are non-problematic. (9/12/2010 7:43:06 PM)

after a VERY unfortunate incident that some people here helped me with- i found out that i am allergic to lubricants that contain glycerin(sorry if mispelled), which is sugary and can start or worsen yeast infections, and in my case, i had a fear of my uterus falling because the pain was so intense. are there any lubes that are not much of a problem to deal with?

olive oil.

Seriously, I've used olive oil in the past with no problems because I found that commercial lubes always seemed to cause me one problem or another.

Water based lubes?  just stay away from glycerin.

doesn't matter. Any kind of olive oil worked for me. Just don't use the stuff that is flavored or infused.

Silicone based lubes are inert and do not have the issues that most water based lubes have: 1) Glycerine 2) parabens

Silicone has the limitation that it can't be used with silicone toys. It is however very slippery and lasts a long time.

Any oil has the limitation that it can't be used with toys that contain rubber or latex. Some people think oils are best avoided for internal vaginal use.

An alternative is Carrageenan.

I have not tried it but have read about it, and the ingredient list is good, provided you aren't allergic to Aloe or Vit E.

Olive oil makes me itch, really really badly. Almond oil is just.. okay. Aloe makes me itch too.
