I'm finding, as I get older and my skin is not as elastic as it once was, such that after a lot of intense paddling, I get a dry, cracking effect on my bum (from the buildup of heat?) and it results in blistering--like a "weeping" abrasion.

It stops play for both of us, and it's annoying because I can't go as far as I used to.

I've seen videos on spanktube about using lotion to prevent this.  Has anyone else encountered this phenomenon and did lotion or other means prevent it?

thanks

I wouldn't thing the dryness is from heat, but rather physical damage of the epidermis (of the skin). Blistering is separation of the layers of the skin and build up of sera in between the layers.  Lotion might help but i'm not sure i see the mechanism of how it would help.  Give it  a go  - all you have to lose is some play time if it doesn't work.

sounds like you're building up to "leather ass", an affect from playing a lot where there the skin starts to toughen up like leather. I used to get this many many many years ago when I could play hard and everday. It starts out with small blisters and drying skin and then would eventually lead to my skin becoming thicker and tougher.

After many years of not playing at all though it eventually went back to normal skin.

Thank you.  Blistering is probably not the most accurate description--but I understand what you're saying.  There's a really good video on spanktube from a top named Niko, who actually uses a surface thermometer to measure the skin temperature of a bottom's bum, one cheek with lotion, one without...and the lotion side (totally opposite what I would have guessed) was cooler....and less dried out. obviously.
I think the lotion must keep the skin less prone to drying out, which the heat facilitates.

But I think what you're saying above makes sense.

Thank you for replying--I appreciate the feedback.  Good to know I'm not unique in this.    I find that I don't bruise the way I used to either--must be related to that.  I'm only playing about once a month or so.... which is why it kind of surprised me.

Oh joy....first male pattern baldness....now leather ass.
