FirmhandKY -> "Change That Matters"? (9/16/2010 3:17:50 PM)

Seems the Democrats have a new logo:

Democrats unveil new logo, website

The rebranding effort, officials say, is meant to represent a national coalition making 'change that matters.'

In what was billed as a "major announcement," the Democratic National Committee on Wednesday unveiled not a new policy platform, but a new logo -- one with a familiar ring.

It is the first rebranding effort by the party since Bill Clinton was president, officials say, and is meant to deemphasize the traditional notion of the party organization as a Washington-based collection of gray-beards and instead represent a national coalition making "change that matters."

Along with the logo is a redesigned website, which the party calls "a home for powerful tools that will empower Democrats across the country to connect with one another and with the party."

...

The emphasis of the letter "D" in the logo evokes what has become a regular feature of President Obama's campaign speeches of late. After arguing that Republicans drove the nation into a ditch, Obama says that to move forward, you put the car in "D," but to reverse you put it in "R."

The logo also has a circular shape that resembles Obama's campaign logo, as does the color scheme. Gone is the American flag and the familiar donkey.

mnottertail -> RE: "Change That Matters"? (9/16/2010 3:28:52 PM)

patriotic, say it aloud and spell it.....p a t r i o t i c.   Seems to me all the heavy military experience on the Republican side has been carried wholly by FaceShooter Cheney and HipShooter McCain.

servantforuse -> RE: "Change That Matters"? (9/16/2010 4:34:13 PM)

I guess that hope and change thing didn't work out to well for them. That stupid new logo won't do a thing to help them keep control of the House...

You're forgetting Bush prime. Unlike his draft dodging cheerleader son and Saint Ronnie, he had a pretty impressive military record.

Elisabella -> RE: "Change That Matters"? (9/16/2010 5:08:08 PM)

Well they had to change it from "change we can believe in" because nobody really believes in it anymore.

Maybe after two years of being all sizzle and no steak he's got a bit warier about making promises he can't keep?

What's the big "D" stand for, "DEPRESSION?"

OMG yes and the R was for Recession.

Coincidence or conspiracy?

The best for the US Democrats under current circumstances is to keep quiet. There are lot of people who automatically vote Democrats; they may change their minds.

Jesus. I wonder how much money they squandered designing that?

Probably a lot more than some clever conservative spent running a red line through it, and negating the whole damn thing, LOL.

As John "FRENCH" Kerry, multi- million dollar yacht buyin' Democrat from Massachusetts (Damn, that sounds like something Larry the Cable Guy would say!)
would say; "would that it were, would that it were."
"Change you can believe in." And what do they do, try to sneak by another "Amnesty" for illegal aliens attached to a DOD Appropriations Bill.
How many times do the American People have to tell them "NO" before they LISTEN?
They might as well have a big circle with the letters, "F.U" in it and "we don't hear SHIT!" for a slogan.
Politics really isn't that difficult, if you LISTEN to "THE PEOPLE" and do as they want you to, you'll get re-elected!
It's when they don't LISTEN is when they get in trouble.
Heratic, I wonder how many psychologists they hired to design that logo? And could they all, ..."agree?"

Yes, they seem to be surrendering to everyone.

When in danger, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout.

Wonder what bit of inspiration cost them?
Wonder if they counted it as a "job created"?

As opposed to the numerous well-thought out proposals and solutions that have been raining down on us from the GOP?
