The whole paternal side of my family was heavily into driving and building cars, but not on this level. We were never pros, we did it for our own self satisfaction. However I have quite a bit of experience on the subject. I mean family photos almost always had a car in them, and when Grampa got his movie camera what did he film ? drag races between the cousins. Stunt driving was one of the fun things we did also. Our Mothers always had this impending sense of doom whenever they heard that rumble of a car starting up in the driveway. As such I can tell you that car in the video is very specially equipped, including but not limited to indepenently controlled brakes. It probably also sports a very specially designed differential case, drivable to make one wheel turn in reverse but I wouldn't swear by it. More than likely it has four wheel drive with reversible torque at least on the front drive. The tires are probably special low traction rubber, which makes it tail out more on turns, which can be hard to handle. For effect I would say it has fuel injectors in the exhaust system. Don't get me wrong, this takes nothing away from the skill level of the driver, not only in sheer driving ability but to be able to handle all these special features. I'd say it approaches the skill level required to pilot an aircraft. This guy is good. He has more of that kind of blood in him than any three of "us". Driving down the road sideways is a piece of cake, but this guy takes the cake, really. Flying would have been my next step and I almost joined the USAF, but found that I didn't have good enough eyesight to be a pilot and scratched the idea. I could've taken it up on my own, bu there would be little if any chance that I would be alive today to talk about it. Even driving it was a good thing that we were pretty much immortal until we were in our late twenties. And of course we wreck everything. After watching a video like that the discussion would ensue about all the special equipment required and of course, how to incorporate it into our machines. In other words, many can just enjoy the show, but not us. Oh well. Those days are over, I haven't even done 90MPH in over three years. Now I must go sulk somewhere, for now I remember how old I am. T
