Anyone have a good remedy for a small stubborn patch of psoriasis? Psoriacin has it beaten back but wont quite kill it.

Try Vicks Vaporub after using a pumice stone on it. When I do this and take fish oil and multi-B vitamins, it clears up (I never keep it up to the point of totally getting rid of it, though).

You might try over-the-counter steroid cream - but good luck on getting rid of it for good. I haven't ever been able to manage that feat! :) but steroids can make it look as if it has gone - for a while.

I have found that taclonex (prescription) works extremely well. Note, it is if anything too powerful - if you use too much it thins the skin and you get open sores. I use no more than 1/week, but honestly that 1 dose clears it right up in about 3 days for me. See your doctor. Of course, sunshine works well too. But convincing people you need to go Brazil's beaches for medical reasons is a tough sell.

There is no cure for psoriasis. There are treatments that help the skin/scalp. Essential oils of lavender, tea tree, and cypress have all proved effective in allieving itching and scaling. Please feel free to message me on the other side if you are interested in alternative treatment.

Udderly Smooth is pretty good, or go to a nearby farmshop and get some udder cream, cow's udders are very sensitive and most people with psoriasis have had excellent results with it.

I have no personal experience with it but I have seen some reviews that claim pretty remarkable results using a product called Nopalea.

A friend who has extremely severe psoriasis only uses prescription stuff. The lavender/tea tree stuff that Miss Dainty recommends is a good idea.

I used prescription steroid cream for many years - until it stopped working, and had to go to what was essentially a topical anti-rejection drug. Now, i ignore it until my hands crack open, then i superglue them shut. Works well for me. I can always tell when i am stressed though - my hands look a mess!

Daddy uses cortisone cream or a foot fungal cream for what we suspect, but have not gotten medically checked out, is an out break of psoriasis.

Coal tar can be a big help, I've found. Either a soap with a lot of that in it (Pear's is particularly good) or a medicated shampoo with that in it (like neutrogena T Gel) can have a good effect. Much cheaper than most medication as well.
