That's an argument that was very popular in the UK during the mid '90s. Presumably a lot of people in the 'States are now also feeling that there's no bugger left worth voting for.

You also think they would be proudly promoting their vote for O-care and support of Crap and Tax. The silence is deafening.

Interesting that cap-and-trade was also a Republican proposal.

They were for it before they were against it.  I think someone used to call that flip-flopping, I just can't remember which party used that term.

By the way Crap and Tax was so enormously clever Willbeur.  How do you ever think of these things?  You truly have a way with words.

Close to what Willbeur?

You being proven wrong again?

I'm pretty sure we're awful close to that:

Remember when Republicans liked cap-and-trade?

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.):
With his recent swing to the right, McCain's become one of the leaders of the GOP's "cap-and-tax" chorus.  Yes, this is the same guy who cosponsored the first cap-and-trade bills in the Senate in 2003, 2005, and 2007, and who said this during his run for the White House in 2008:
A cap-and-trade policy will send a signal that will be heard and welcomed all across the American economy. And the highest rewards will go to those who make the smartest, safest, most responsible choices.

Come to the dark side:  Steve Benen, writing in Washington Monthly, digs deeper into the morphing of the GOP into carbon-cap naysayers:
Cap-and-trade -- any version of it -- has been deemed wholly unacceptable by Republicans this year. But given the intense opposition to the idea, it's easy to forget that Republicans used to consider cap-and-trade a reasonable, market-based mechanism that was far preferable to command-and-control directives that the right found offensive.

bullshit from Kendoll as usual. This dealt with POLLUTION (you know...those things that have actually been shown to be harmful and have real costs), not CO2.

It doesn't matter who does it Cap and Trade was and is a rotten idea.
The people in Washington need to be thinking of ways to cut programs, take less of the People's money in taxes and cut or do away with whole agencies like Energy, Education, E.P.A. and half the State Dept.
I want to see the Dems (what's left of them) and the Repubs *both* be "The Party of NO!"

America needs cap and cap then in about twenty years it may not account for the largest CO2 to population ratio.

These things used to be seen as opportunities now seen instead as threats.

If CO2 is not a pollutant then I assume you will volunteer to spend say an hour in a 100% CO2 environment?

The same day you do in a 100% oxygen environment. Another of your typically idiotic posts.

Goldman Sachs will fix the climate.

Give them your money.  You expel carbon dioxide.   GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

That'll be a chunk of '08 Obama supporters voting with their asses, Flco. They'll just stay on them, and watch the results on Fox.

Wrong

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/sep/30/democrats-turn-face-crowd-health-care/

I wonder if they will talk about the "achievement" of 30,000 McDonald's workers losing their coverage unless they receive a waiver from provisions of the new law.

Coverage with 2,000 yearly limit?

Nope, i doubt the politicians are talking about that, but McDonald's sure is.

Willbeur, let me ask you something.

Do you ever have an original thought or is it just what Rush whispers in your ear during your special times together?

It's truly amazing to watch.

Whatever Limbaugh says on his show one day you are parroting on this board the next.

Will McDonald's Drop Health Care Coverage for Hamburger Flippers?

"About 1.4 million workers have group health care coverage through limited benefits plans, according to the National Restaurant Association, which doesn't track growth of the plans."

Minimum wage employees getting health care benefits that cost as much as their wages doesnt compute. And the number impacted will be far greater than 1.4 million, it will be every low level unioinized job where health care benefits were being scaled back under CBAs. Watch what this does to the unemployment numbers if there is no relief.

I thought your favourite line regarding such matters was: "Stop monetising the problem."

I already pay because we understand the needs of others i.e. our energy production has an impact on people in the third world living in a far more sustainable manor. Compare your fuel prices to ours and then ask yourself if the difference is made up by Americans voluntarily? Nobody really volunteers to fix a chronic problems, acute problems are the ones easily dealt with through charity. You aren't paying the banks you are paying people to cope with the problems created by your way of life. We like to blame people in the modern world with claims culture and all the rest of it. So look outside your microcosm and apply the same blame culture rules.

Stop obsession about Goldman Sachs, it isn't the only evil institution.
