I have an account at FetLife, as do many here. You will be meeting the same people, maybe with different usernames. 
Read everything on the profile page, especially all the buttons...there are choices for blocking or reporting a profile for TOS violations. Some things are not against TOS so there is nothing that can be done about it...other than meeting that person in a public place for coffee as soon as possible or meeting them at a munch so you can verify that the woman you wish to cyber with isn't really male.
As a female who came here and stayed in the chat room for a long time before finding the message boards, I really enjoyed winding down there...but the pressure from all sides to cyber kinda teed me off. After a while I thought that the ones wanting to play online deserved to end up cybering with someone who was merely pretending to be female. Evil of me, but there you have it.
This is my favorite BDSM site...I've tried the rest. Maybe you should try out all the rest too, and then decide for yourself which you prefer. Assuming that another place must be better without trying it out first is kind of like dreaming that the grass is always greener somewhere else.

About your model friend...sorry to hear about this. I've heard of others who have had their pix stolen and used online...so I don't post any. There's a button for reporting stolen pix, but I don't know how they would prove whose pic it is without lawyers and court stuff...in this, I am supremely ignorant and plan to remain so.  I heard that many people pass off pix as their own when they were taken from online. An ex friend of mine, years ago, kept busting fem subs who sent him pix...that he recognised from all the porn he watched. He used to tell them which movie or site it came from.
Maybe the "report stolen pix" is also an automated thing, and requires several people reporting it to be deleted.

I get a lot less mail there than here so I will have to agree with you about that part...but...the munch group I belong to is also at Fet. I go there to read the threads they start and see where the next meetup is planned. Each time it has been about 3 hours away from where I live, and that's a problem. I've had car troubles one after the next these past few months, but I will meet up with others in that group eventually. I've met more people from CM chatrooms than from the message boards.
Good luck with that documentary. The dude's wife will probably take his computer away and give it to the Salvation Army or something.
