OK, which ones? Citations?

Fuck, I belong to three large unions, and other than sending mail, they have no impact on something like this at all.

I didn't even get mail about it. In fact, I just heard about it here.

Further, since when do unions decide who gets overtime? Ever heard of management?

Or labor laws?

Obviously I can break the confidentiality of my clients. You're not in DC why would you expect to get anything about it?

When do unions decide who gets overtime? When union personnel set time schedules..that isnt always assigned to management. And labor laws have nothing to do with apportionment of overtime when its addressed through collective bargaining.

2.3 really? I watched the CBS video, and if I would have to guess, it looked like a lot less than that, I'd have a hard time believing that there were 10,000 lose...er lefties on the mall.

Nope, it was 2.13 million by an expert estimate.

From the pictures Ive seen it looked to be about 1/2 - 2/3 the size of Becks. There will be comparative pictures tomorrow Im sure.

No Willbeur this was an official estimate by an official National Park Service employee.

Is this sounding at all familiar to you Willbeur?

Or are you as lost as normal?

You make this comment on a thread you started with this:

Now I know they don't put out official crowd estimates anymore, but my neighbor Stella's third ex-husband's first wife has a friend whose second cousin on her mother's side works as a landscaper for the NPS in DC and that was how many people he thought were there.

And then you demand to be treated as something other than a pair of hospitality tits at a needle party...

Have you ever gotten around to finding the definition of disingenuous, RML?

I wonder if Government employess were "invited" by Obama's people to attend this rally.

Like they were for the "Reclaim the Dream" rally in August.

Not that I particularly give a fuck, but (from the same link)...

Organizers claimed they had as many participants as Beck's rally. But Saturday's crowds were less dense and didn't reach as far to the edges as they did during Beck's rally.

Funny how "organizers" always seem to have a vision problem.

K.

It is a local by local issue. The Midwest and Westcoast teamsters are.

It seems standard that event organizers will often over exaggerate their numbers for a variety of reasons. During the Beck rally, almost anyone with a brain understood, rally organizers, including Mr. Beck, would grossly over exaggerate the numbers. So CBS hired a third party company to take photos by air an analysis to get a better idea of the actual crowd count at its highest point. The number this third party arrived at, is the 87,000 often quoted by other sources. Since those of Mr. Beck's rally failed to provide a third/neutral party to do a proper accounting, it stands to reason, the 87,000 number is much more accurate figure, based on evidence.

Having seen photographs of the National Mall, with different numbers of crowds for events over the years, its rather easy to tell the difference (with reference material handy) to the size of a crowd. Mr. Beck's rally was no where near 200K, let alone the 400-500K he announced. And not in the same galaxy when compared to Sen. Michelle Bachmann's number of 1.5 million.

That said, I'm surprised CBS did not hire the same or similar company to do a few shots by air of the crowd size this time around. Maybe they have, and I have not seen the info just yet. Still, this rally was planned for weeks in advance (and before the Beck Rally was announced). Why didn't the GOP make a similar effort to give an accurate estimate to the crowd?

Ok....

Replace 'GOP' with the more broad group known as 'conservatives'. If you, as a conservative, are going to say this group's numbers are incorrect, it stands to reason you have a much more accurate number? If so, what is it, and can you provide the evidence that backs up your statement?

For hypothetical sake, lets just consider the rally was twice the size of Beck's rally (174K). And for the sake of this arguement, we arrive to the arguement that the number, based on what ever evidence is 'on the table', is this '174K' number. What do we, as US Citizens take from this information? Being neutral about it, I guess, it would depend on people's disposition towards the Democratic Party right now, right?

You make the mistake of thinking that I or conservatives in general give a fuck how many people there were. I simply made a statement of my observation from pictures in response to an ironic OP.

I AM quite interested in how many show up for Jon Stewart's event. That will be a gauge of just how stupid the American public actually has become. We already knew that about the Dems in Congress before they brought Colbert in, but I still hold out some hope that the scum rose to the top.

Willbeur, you really are a masochist at heart aren't you?

Why do you consistently provoke me to prove you wrong when it is so easy?

The NPS estimate is 300-325 k and is substantiated by comparison to other events. If Stewart gets 50k I'll be shocked.

Now do I really need to go into the fact that it was pointed out to you by several people that The National Park Service no longer provides these estimates.

So tell me Willbeur, what were you saying about lying?

I think you need to look before you speak. Yes, multiple unions did bus their members and others to those that rally.

Maybe i missed it, Master Malkinius, but i didnt see in any of those links even a hint of the Unions "requiring" their members attend as willbe stated.

If several unions hadnt bussed in people and required their membership to attend though, I wonder how many there would have been
